   נשאלתי בענין מאמר שנתפרסם בעיתון, שבו הזהירו על דבר סכנה גדולה בלא לפרש שום פרטים לא מקום, לא שעה, ולא קבוצה.

   תשובה:
   אסור לפרסם אזהרה בלא שם מקום, שעת מעשה, ופרטי הנוגעים בדבר, משום חשש בלבול דעת הציבור, פחד שוא, ושבירת טלפונים לא לצורך.
   ומי שמזהיר בלא לבאר הרי זה בכלל ו”לא תשית מכשול על הורים שלא יודעים איפה הבן שלהם בכלל.”

   לפיכך: כל מי שקורא מאמר כזה — רשאי להתעלם ממנו עד שיבואו עדים כשרים ויפרשו את מקום המעשה בציון מדויק ב-Waze.
   ואם תאמר: “But it’s too sensitive!”
   תירוץ: Then don’t publish it like a suspense thriller with no ending.

8. From personal experience, even if you haven’t done anything wrong but are hanging around with kids who commit a crime, you can still be charged. In the case I’m referring to, the driver was 18, and his friends were 16 and 17. He stopped at a shopping mall, and his three friends went inside to buy something. One of them shoplifted. A few miles later, the driver was pulled over without knowing why, but he was charged with shoplifting. It took a few months and $3,000 to sort everything out. The most the askanim could do was direct him to a good lawyer. Be forewarned.

9. If they are breaking the law, these boys should be arrested. We should make sure that the ashkanim don’t misuse their influence to let these Yidishe Nishamos go Rachmana Litzlon to the side. Let them learn the concept of reward and punishment. Prison could be a learning experience. Also, the parents would then take chinuch a little bit more seriously

    Unfortunately, many in our circles have adopted the liberal tendency of permissiveness and “understanding”. Of “Its not your business” and “dont judge”.
    This attitude has given rise to a sorry phenomenon of increasingly reckless and dangerous behavior on the part of children who “are just misunderstood”.

    Enough is enough. Accountability is a real thing, too much rachmanus hurts the real innocent.

    the point is, there has been misbehavior that is unacceptable, and it will cease being tolerated.
    If you dont know where your child hangs out, find out. If you know he hangs out with unsavory characters, now is a great time to show him “al tisya’esh min hapuroniyos”.

    נשאלתי: מה דינו של אדם שקרא בעיתון על סכנה נוראה ואיומה אשר רובצת כענן שחור על חוצות קריה, מבלי שנמסרו פרטים מזהים: לא מקום, לא שעה, ולא עצם הסכנה? האם מותר לו לעבור לסדר היום, או שמא עליו ללבוש שק ואפר ולהתכונן לגוג ומגוג?

    תשובה:

    דע והבן! כל מי שמקבל אזהרה כללית, אף בלא שום סימן או ציון גאוגרפי, חייב לעמוד על רגליו האחוריות ולפתוח בנביחות. שכן כבר כתב הרה”ק רבי פוביע מבאברויסק (בשו”ת “משיב חרון אף”, ח״ב או״ח תרע״ז) שאין סכנה כהתעלמות מן הסכנה, אפילו אם אינה ברורה, אלא “כאדים העולים מן הסיר ואינך יודע אם זה מרק או פצצת עשן”.

    ולכן:
    • מי שקורא מאמר אזהרה – אף אם חסרים בו כל פרטי המעשה – חייב לצעוק “איי איי איי!” בקול רם ולברוח למרחב מוגן.
    • ואף אם הסכנה באוסטרליה, והוא בניו ג’רזי – הרי כולנו גוף אחד, וכשנוגעים באצבע הקטנה של היקום – כולו נרעד.
    • ויש להחמיר ולהניח תפילין דר”ת גם בלילה, ולחבוש קסדה בשעת קריאת העיתון.

    ואם תאמר: “אבל אין שום מקור לזה!”
    תשובה: אין אנו צריכים מקורות – עצם היעדר הידיעה הוא ראיה שיש משהו שמסתירים מאיתנו!

14. Seems like there needs to be more supervision and worthwhile activities for these boys to do. Does this happen every year?
    Are they involved in these activities while in yeshiva too? Maybe yeshivas need more oversight during the year.
