In what one may view as an attempt to win over the secular vote, on his election website (http://porush.co.il), chareidi mayoral candidate Rabbi Meir Porush reveals “10 facts about himself,” including the perhaps yet unknown bit of trivia that he is a basketball and soccer fan, as well as a “sworn Betar Yerushalayim” soccer fan.

The chareidi community is generally not too involved in national sports, especially soccer, since matches are held on Shabbos.
