MASSIVE FIGHTER-JET BUILDUP: Jordanian Base Hosting Dozens Of U.S. Aircraft

A military base in central Jordan has seen a sharp increase in U.S. aircraft activity, emerging as a key hub for potential American operations involving Iran, according to a report in The New York Times.

New satellite imagery captured Friday shows more than 60 attack aircraft stationed at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base — roughly triple the number typically present. Flight tracking data indicates that at least 68 cargo planes have landed at the base since Sunday, suggesting a significant buildup of personnel and equipment.

The images reportedly show advanced aircraft, including F-35 stealth fighter jets, along with drones and helicopters. Additional fighter jets may be parked under reinforced shelters.

The report also notes that new air defense systems have been installed at the base, aimed at protecting against possible Iranian missile threats.

Jordanian officials, speaking anonymously, said the American aircraft and equipment are deployed under an existing defense agreement between the two countries.

While the base has become a focal point for U.S. military planning, Jordan is among several regional nations that have publicly stated they will not allow attacks on Iran to be launched from their territory.

  1. Considering how easy surveillance on these bases would be for Iran (with assistance from China and Russia), I hope that a percentage of the aircraft observed are actually decoys.
