Historic events unfolded on March 4 at CURE Insurance Arena in Trenton, New Jersey, where close to 10,000 women filled the arena for an extraordinary evening of inspiration and music.
The sold out event, headlined by singer Shaindy Plotzker and produced by Eli Gerstner and EG Productions, benefited the organization Makor.
The evening opened with Tehillim for our brothers and sisters in Israel, followed by the introduction of the evening’s MC, Shimi Adar.
Moments later, the arena fell silent as the show began with a dramatic overture performed by a massive all female symphony orchestra.
Suddenly, the curtain dropped from the roof of the arena, revealing the stage for the first time. An enormous wall of LED screens and lighting filled the arena, with the orchestra positioned in a carved out space in the center of the visual display, and the energy in the room immediately surged.
When the overture concluded, the opening song began with Plotzker’s powerful song “Geulah”. As the music started, the crowd looked in every direction, waiting for her signature entrance. Then the audience looked upward and saw her descending from the ceiling, floating down from the roof of the arena as she began singing. She landed on stage to thunderous excitement, launching a night filled with powerful music, emotion, and connection. In that moment, many in the audience felt as if the message of the song itself was coming to life, with a powerful sense that the Geulah could arrive at any moment.
Throughout the evening, Plotzker performed many of her own well known songs along with music spanning generations of Jewish music. The program included a medley of classic favorites from the 1970s through the past two decades, alongside a newer segment she calls the “Newbies” medley featuring recent hits.
One particularly meaningful moment came during a tribute to Special Children’s Center, when its founder, Jenine Shwekey, joined the stage together with children connected to the organization for a medley honoring the music of her husband, singer Yaakov Shwekey. The gesture reflected the spirit of unity and generosity that defines Makor and its mission.
Another deeply moving highlight came during an “Ani Maamin” Holocaust tribute. Holocaust survivor Babbi Itzkowitz joined Plotzker on stage alongside more than 150 young choir members and the adult Echos Choir. As they sang together, the arena lights turned toward two suites filled with Holocaust survivors who had been invited to the event. Looking out across thousands of women celebrating Jewish life and faith, the moment became one of the most powerful expressions of resilience and Kiddush Hashem of the entire evening.
The concert was the latest chapter in Plotzker’s remarkable series of sold out performances in recent years. Her annual “Shaindy Plotzker Live” shows previously filled major venues including New Jersey Performing Arts Center and Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, drawing thousands each year. The sold out arena in Trenton marked an even larger milestone, demonstrating that a religious female artist could headline a production on a scale never seen before. For those in attendance, the night carried an atmosphere many described as electric, uplifting, and unforgettable, leaving the feeling that something historic had truly taken place.
