California Gov. Gavin Newsom says federal agents have questioned friends, former employees, and associates of him and his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, as part of what appears to be an expanding federal investigation.

Newsom accused President Trump of using the Justice Department to target a political rival, saying investigators have been reviewing records and contacting people connected to the couple. He also claimed authorities are focusing on his wife and her nonprofit organizations.

According to the report, multiple federal investigations related to Newsom are underway, including one examining his wife’s finances.
