The Shin Bet says it thwarted dozens of planned terror attacks over the past year that were directed by Hamas terrorists operating from Turkey. According to the agency, Hamas’s so-called “West Bank Headquarters” has been recruiting terrorists, transferring funds and weapons, and coordinating attacks in Judea and Samaria and inside Israel.

The Shin Bet identified several Turkey-based Hamas figures involved in the effort, including senior official Zaher Jabarin and military commander Ayman Abu Khalil. The agency said the terrorists have been operating freely from Turkish territory, using networks there to send instructions and funding to terror cells in the West Bank.
