Spicy Mixed Nuts

This is a great snacking food to have around for just about anytime.  Serve it at your Shabbos table with the appetizers or with the dessert or when friends drop by in the afternoon.

2 tablespoons margarine

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon cumin

½ teaspoon paprika

¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup almonds

1 cup walnuts

1 cup cashews

1 cup pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Melt the margarine in a large skillet over medium heat.  Stir in the spices and cook briefly.  Stir in nuts and toss to coat.  Cook for about 2 minutes.  Spread the nuts in a single layer on a baking sheet with sides.  Bake for 10 minutes.  Remove from oven and cool completely.  Store in a tin or jar or plastic Tupperware-style container.
