Radio-Host Gazit Facing Incitement and Other Charges for Anti-Chareidi Remarks

Radio host Gabi Gazit is facing numerous charges for his hateful remarks last week, aired on Non-Stop Radio in the north against the chareidi community.

One Jerusalem resident, Moshe Shurek, filed a complaint against Gazit with police last week, stating he believes the radio host violated a number of laws, including those prohibiting incitement and racism. He attached a recording to the broadcast to the complaint.

According to a HaMevaser report, police who reviewed the case, listening to the audio recording, it appears Gazit will face serious charges for breaking a number of laws. The report continues, stating that a number of chareidi legal experts explain they are familiar with cases in which member of the right-wing and Arab communities were found guilty and sentenced to prison for month and years.

Shurek is also quoted as saying that if he feels police are not perusing the case as they should, he will not hesitate to turn to the courts to intervene since if another segment of society was involved, police would carry out its responsibilities as required under law.

  1. I don’t think anyone should their breath. He is going to get away with it because he “only” spoke against Chareidim and settlers which is not considered “real” racism or incitement. If he would have spoken against the arabs that would have been another story…
