In the Jewish community, I know people who were and who were not affected. People who were affected were generally the ones who stayed uncareful, whether because their work/teaching or because of personal attitude. Several cases were people affected early in nursing homes and some older people during recent spikes whose relatives brought it in. I heard about only one case among my professional contacts (a professor in March 2020). Benefits of sane behavior are much higher than of any drug or vaccine, approved or not.
