The Christians who become fake frum Jews is a completely separate issue (and a much much smaller problem quantity-wise) from the very real problem of halachic Goyim who think they’re Jews (descended from Conservative/Reform maternal “converts”, paternal descent, etc.) and then become Orthodox Jews even though they’re gentiles.
