All right. This is an absolute travesty. Just to think how many mamzeirem did not die in the last week to save a kohen.
I’m confused on why the titanic is part of the topic. They did what they did. Either it was standard practice, or they decided it on the spot. I really doubt they were completely dedicated to saving as many lives as possible. The titanic is an all around example of getting low priorities of the value of a single life.
Does the concept of a hierarchy apply to non-Jews who are saving lives? And if they can save whatever way they believe will help the most, are Jews working alongside them obligated to object and insist on following a specific order? If they cannot do that, do they cease cooperating with non-Jews?
In my understanding this is all irrelevant. But what does everyone else have to say on this crucial topic?
