In Azi’s defense, he never said there was nothing wrong with biblical criticism … as someone who has studied it on my own, I can confidently tell you that it’s foundations are weak and its proofs non-rigorous.
However, if in fact, Rabbi Solovetchik did allow it to be taught, clearly he had a reason, to which I am not sure
