WIY – you are right, the tuna beigel is more “in your face” than the modern yeshivish, but to the truly yeshivish person, its the same avlah.
Neither one (the tuna or the MY) really wants to be bound by the full program, but still want to “identify” with the group they stem from.
Sorry to say, you gotta choose. If you’re not striving for full compliance, you’re bound to start sliding. That’s life in the material world.
