Doswin, some other factors that make the situation now totally different than in pre-war Europe, is the singles then not dating for unlimited amount of years. I’ve never heard of that happening. Whoever the parents felt was the right one, was the one. So people werent “wise guys” and “wise girls”… They didnt philosophize and analyze as much, if at all. A nice boy/girl from a nice family, etc was all that was needed. People didnt get old and gray with their kids rejecting and being rejected. The main problem some singles had was money/dowry.
