Who knows, perhaps if Kamtza showed up, his friend would not have been so bothered that bar kamtza showed up as well. Perhaps he might have calmed him down. Perhaps things would have turned out differently. Perhaps that is the lesson we should learn, for after all it is referred to as the espisode of kamtza and bar kamtza. Why is kamtzas name attached to this episode, what did he do? His invitation never showed up in the mail, he is more of a side note.
