Can anyone give me aytzas for an AC unit?
I need approx 18000 BTU or some more.
It should be a wall unit or one that could be made into one.
The unit MUST be one that is Shabbos Clock friendly – meaning I want to keep it on a clock even if it comes with one built in – so it has to remember the setting thru a power failure.
Thanks!

There are so many different models available that it’s difficult to recommend one specific unit. Even online reviews tend to be skimpy because of the great variety available.
The best thing to do is measure your room’s width, length and height (yes, I saw you already have a BTU preference), then speak to a knowledgeable and honest salesperson.
Our experiences with Duddy’s in Boro Park have been good and I’d recommend them if you’re from Brooklyn or nearby.
I don’t know where you live and I’m sure others have recommendations too.

We use Aj Madison for our appliance needs in brooklyn on 38th street. They have a trailer outside their store stocked with air conditioners, so I am sure there is one for you.
You also need to keep voltage in mind, so I suggest you speak to a professional, lest you order the wrong thing.

I’m not a spoiled American. When I was a kid we didn’t have AC. And it gets pretty hot in Chicago, too.
