I believe Minyangal has said to be in your neighborhood.

Is that a subtle way of saying she is close to my age? Are you volunteering someone else’s age for them?

Today’s 50 is like 20 years ago 40. My father-in-law who is in his early 70’s tells us from time to time how he feels like he is getting old. I tell him, “Tatty, you are middle age”. My husband always replies to me afterward, “70 is middle age? What is he, a tree”? My husband who turned 50 a few months says, it actually hit him that he is no longer in his 40’s. ?? ??? ?????? ???.

Each new age comes with so much more experience. It opens up new worlds. I really enjoy being my age and am looking forward to a lot more ages.

reba; Omein! Yeah I thought is was subtle.

Me thinks that “methinks” agrees. Thanks methinks!

I hope that doesn’t sound confusing.

Since you asked (and I can never answer a question normally), try this and see how old you really are!

Google preventdisease.com and take the quiz to see how your lifstyle impacts your life expectancy.

I tried it once by choosing all the bad choices(Overweight, poor diet, no exercise, ect.)It added 5 years to my actual age, and projected a probable demise at around 71.

Then I recalculated the quiz with my real lifestyle, and came up with MUCH more encouaging results.

So, regardless what the calendar tells you, if you are as healthy as a teenager, you are ahead of those 10 years your junior if the yougsters cannot keep up with you.

BPT – i just went on that website and took the test. choices of answers could have been better. sometimes i wasn’t really sure how to answer ie: if they had another choice, i would have picked it. did you feel the same way?

anyway, it did tell me i am about 3 yrs younger than i really am and life expectancy is 84.

but i’m still not telling anyone here my real age 😉

    #810390

    I’m almost 61

Personally, I don’t believe it is anyone’s business. If you want to tell people your age, that is your choice but it is not nice to ask others to comply.

Why do you think that 50 is “old”?

Abba bar Aristotle; If your moniker is your true Pedigree, then adding a Zero will only make you one Quarter of the True Chronological age.

“Permission has been given to every human being, if he wants he can turn onto the road of Am’Ho’aretz’os and be a Am’Ho’Aretz like Aristotle”. [sort of the Rambam Hilchos Teshuva(5:1-2)]

Although it should be said that Aristotle was mi’gayer bisof yomov and retracted all of his books of apikorsus.

It should also be noted that Aristotle was really Jewish – from shevet Dan – he just didn’t know it.

What is wrong with asking others to comply. Noone has to respond if they don’t want to.

Raphael K, we are of the same era. To those that thought I was in the fiftyish age group, I thank you very much – that was quite some time ago. My next “major” birthday (although I consider them all pretty major since my cardiac arrest) will be when I reach “three score year and ten”. I have been thinking of how some men celebrate the 70th anniversary of their Bar Mitzvah at age 83 by repeating their Haftorah (the second Bar Mitzvah). I think this a lovely idea and certainly a reason to celebrate, but I have been wondering why men don’t do this at age 70, as well.

not dying. that is the key to longevity.

People who don’t die early have many more birthdays than those who do. It’s a proven fact.
