Unfortunately there have been quite a few incidents of Anti semitism. We’re in a very long Gauls and we Daven everyday for Moshiach to come. However there are people within our community who hate some people in Klal Yisroel more than non Jews themselves! This is a disgrace and against what Klal Yisroel stands for. We can all remember the Siyum Hashas not to long ago when we all danced together, no matter where they grew up or how they grew up, no matter what kind of hat or no hat they were wearing, it was a true Kiddush Hashem!

I respect you, but the 6th line (“more than…”) is inaccurate and a false ‘kategoria’ on yiden. No need to dramatize by shifting away from accuracy.
We do need to improve in ahavas- Chinom which R. Shoul of Motzitz and Ahavas-Yisroel of Viznitz has stated as the necessaty being the cure to the exact opposite of Sinas-Chinom (of Yoma9b…)
This is not to say that non-Jews behave any better even in this aspect. But that is no consolation, nevertheless.

Everyone serves Hashem with his abilities, some cold, some warm, through one’s natural tendencies and it does not make a difference how, so there is no reason to hate each other.

The biggest internal antisemism is by left-wing Jews against Jews more to their right

Of course this is openly visible by those like the Reform/Conservative against the Orthodox. But it’s also true, even if less visible, among certain left-wing Yarmulka donning who call themselves Orthodox but attack those they deem extremely “too frum”.

You might consider these victims the Jews’ Jews. P

Unfortunately, it’s been a thing in Yiddishkeit since forever. Everyone is anti-Semitic against Jews who they don’t feel are the right kind of Jews. Left wing, right wing, Israeli, American, European, Yeshivish, Heimish, frum, not frum, Chassidish, Breslov, if we all have one thing in common it’s that we harbor contempt for Jews who are not living a life that we think of as Jewish. And I do not exempt myself from this, it’s something I have to work on.

What I wrote above is from the Sefer Michtav Me’Eliyahu from Rav Eliyahu Dessler.

The best thing is a chasiddishe litvak where he has the hislahavus of a chasid and the brisker learning of a litvak, so he will appeciate both. The chasiddim should respect each other’s type of chassidus.

Actually I have seen more of the opposite. Check out the vile attacks against Rabbi Avi Weiss in the Yiddeshe Cancel Culture thread in this coffeeroom.

Oh please. You can’t bring up the attack on an individual who has almost unanimously been confirmed as someone who began a movement to destroy torah as an example of how people are treating other yidden.

For years i have been dying to know how someone as intelligent and logical as you could get sucked in to that movement knowing the issues, and now i hear your defense and I don’t get it. He couldn’t have turned people away from torah because he brought some people to torah? So covid isn’t fatal because some people survived it? Cmon charlie, how can someone like you settle for distortions. I just don’t get it.

“how can someone like you settle for distortions”

Challenging anti-Semites is a distortion of Torah? Where does Chazal say that????

Should i pretend you really thought i was referring to that and not the distortions of halacha to create and perpetuate acceptance for things not permitted by torah? To quote madealiyah:

“ For years i have been dying to know how someone as intelligent and logical as you……..”

when faced with an assumption which is frequently contradicted by the facts, the first logical step would be to re-examine the evidence for, and truth of, that assumption.

Re charlieha the second’s comment: Never mind what they say about Rabbi Avi Weiss. Consider what some coffee roomers say about you, or, even more important, me.

Mizmor – im not sure that insult was warranted. I stand by that assertion but am reconsidering the fact that it is moreso the intelligent and academic who are more often subject to academicly presented challenges and distortions to torah.

Huju- who ever says bad things about you?

Do they call you a “Typical Trumpie”? Or a member of the “Trump Cult”? Or maybe they think you are in need of a 12 step program because you speak out against a Governor who killed thousands?

How can we expect Mashiach to come when the Sinas chinam today is worse then in the days when the Bais hamikdosh was destroyed for this very reason of baseless hatred????

We need to start working on ourselves and bringing ourselves back together as one loving nation on all levels of religion so we can show Hashem that we have fixed the major issue of baseless hatred within our hearts from among our loving brethren in klal yisroel and we’re really ready for Mashiach to come wholeheartedly ASAP.
