You remember by dumb friend? DY will find him. Anyway, nebach the poor guy is still single, and he told me his new theory of dating. I told him it sounded a bit weird, but agreed to ask the yeshiva velt if they agreed with him.
See, it’s like in an auction where you are trying to bid the other guy up. You want him to end up buying it, but want him to pay a lot for it. And sometimes he is doing the same thing with you. So you each keep bidding the other up, and whoever miscalculates ends up holding the bag.
That is dating. Each of you intends to drop, but wants to build up the most connection before you do so as to inflict the most emotional damage. And whoever miscalculates ends up holding the bag.
except here the relationship is neither adversarial nor zero sum. nice try doe.
He should go back to crowdsourcing. This time to get a viable theory. I realize it didn’t work the first time, but nothing could be worse than that attempt at a theory.
