Drivers who stop at a yellow light or wait at a 3-Way (“All”) Stop sign until all traffic is cleared from the other direction (they should only be allowing the FIRST vehicle from the other direction – and only if he was there first) should be required to take a new drivers ed class.

I actually heard about one person who was colorblind, and everytime he got to the yellow flashing light on the corner of forest and 14th, he stopped because he thought it was a flashing red.

lets be clear if you arrive at the same time at the stop sign you gotta let the guy on your right go first

How does my computer know I’m a bad driver. It keeps giving me such impolite messages from time to time – “BAD DRIVER…”

Panthers: I hadn’t mentioned them arriving at the same time. Most frustrating is when the driver in front of you (at the All Way Stop) is allowing multiple cars from the other side go, while she is waiting for the entire line of cars to clear before proceeding.

You are suppose to stop at a yellow light.

I was pulled over once for going through a yellow light. The officer asked me if I knew what the yellow means. I said, “It means hurry up.”

Actually I told him I was not sure if it means you have to stop or you can proceed with caution depending on your speed and how far into the street you are.

He said it means to stop, and let me go with a warning.

    BY guy:

NY law defines a yellow light as follows:

    (i) Vehicular traffic facing such signal is thereby warned that the red signal will be exhibited immediately thereafter and such vehicular traffic shall not enter the intersection when the red signal is exhibited.

(ii) Pedestrians facing such signal are thereby warned that there is insufficient time to cross the roadway, and shall not enter or cross the roadway. Pedestrians already in the roadway shall proceed to the nearest safety island or sidewalk.

Therefore, your answer is more correct than the cop’s. if you already entered the intersection you can go but if you have not then you cannot enter the intersection on the yellow.

BT, so how is it different than red, if that be the case?

    IT MAKES ME MESHUGA WHEN…

When you have the green light at an intersection, and you are waiting to make a left turn, and the first guy in line wanting to make that left turn stays back at the crosswalk line and does NOT pull up into the intersection (the way you ARE supposed to!) so that when the light turns red ONLY HE gets to make the turn, instead of 2 or 3 cars being able to do so.

    GRrrrrr!!!!

All bad drivers should be compelled to join popa’s driving school for retards, jerks, dolts, women and those who keep drifting too far to the left…!

Sushe: You sound like an accident looking for a victim. I hope never to arrive at an intersection at the same time as you.

Any people who are actual bad drivers are close to being Rodphim. A person who is a bad driver has to recognize himself as such and stay off the roads.

My friend is taking her permit test today— she candidly admitted that she crammed last night and doesn’t expect to remember any of them after today.

Luckily, she doesn’t live where I live, so I won’t have to keep off the roads…

The permit test is not that important. It’s the driving lessons that are important. The best way to learn the rules of the road is by actually driving on the road.

The permit test is one big joke

It does not help your driving in any way

The more you drive the more experience you get

i stop at yellow lights. and im a very good driver. its probably the more safe thing to do as opposed to speed up and possibly make it through a red… not to mention that if cameras get a pic youll be ticketed 🙂

To AinOhdMilvado: (i) Thanks for the great laugh from a greater comedian, and (ii) how does a frum boy like you learn about George Carlin? I am pretty sure he is not on YWN.

You are not supposed to stop at a yellow light because usually the person behind you will want to go through and crash right into you. So it is even dangerous to stop. Also, sometimes you are going to fast to stop in that short distance. You should also not get a ticket for going through a yellow.

Recently, this girl told me that she did not even have her permit and she got in the car and drove. I was totally shocked and she was just saying thank G-d nothing happened to me, when she almost ran over this man. It’s just really scary to think about. There have been countless stories of people walking on a green and someone running the red and killing them. You always just have to make sure every car stops.
