I would like to know from our fellow CR members, the savy shoppers and everyone else, for the best deals and places to shop this upcoming Black Friday.
This is for others as well as myself. If you have any good ideas,
please list the article type, and the location, e.g.
Menswear, mens suits, barneys, location,
Womens coats, burlingtons, location.
This is a big mitzvah, if anyone of you can help someone else save a few bucks.
Thanking you all in advance,
I personally am interested in better menswear, suits, shirts, shoes, etc.November 22, 2009 2:20 pm at 2:20 pm #669030dunnoMember

What I meant to say was is there anyone who last year etc..
on black fri found a certain store to be a good place to find cheap shoes, or coats, etc.. wanted some insider scoops, feedback,
not how to put a search in google. Thanks though dunno, for your help.November 23, 2009 12:06 am at 12:06 am #669032happiestMember
Try Macy’s. We got a lot of stuff there, shoes and clothing (womens). Don’t know about the coats but would not be surprised if they were on sale. But anyway it is worth looking online for coupons, they really help bring the price down!!November 23, 2009 3:05 am at 3:05 am #669033Joe katzMember
watch out for wallmart.though i here they have sales that “trample” everywhere else.November 23, 2009 3:58 am at 3:58 am #669034pookieMember

There are some online stores that are having major sales, so you can shop online from the comfort of your home, save, not get trampled, and not have to leave ur house at 5 am!!November 23, 2009 4:22 pm at 4:22 pm #669037November 23, 2009 7:25 pm at 7:25 pm #669038
Electronics, Laptop, Best Buy.
Best Buy announced that they will have one additional doorbuster available in-store only. The new doorbuster is a HP 15.6″ Laptop with Intel Celeron Processor, 2GB Memory, 160GB Hard Drive, and Windows 7 for $197. There will be a minimum of 5 per store and limit 1 per customer.November 24, 2009 2:25 am at 2:25 am #669039
No thanksgiving in mexico and no black friday, oh well…..November 24, 2009 5:19 am at 5:19 am #669040
mybat, you can still buy a turkey, and shop online, unless you feel that the
main part of the black fri sales is the pushing. 🙂
There is a similar concept in the gemarah.November 24, 2009 9:43 am at 9:43 am #669041PosterMember
bein_hasdorim, Woah that IS CHEAP, but i know how these things work, there are never enough and pple fight, scream and grab.November 24, 2009 2:21 pm at 2:21 pm #669042
Its not worth it to buy online, the delivery comes out too much to mexico. 🙂November 24, 2009 6:38 pm at 6:38 pm #669043
mybat, why not ship it to a friend and have them come visit you,
or family member who comes often to mexico. If you know of any that is.November 24, 2009 6:59 pm at 6:59 pm #669044
It would get too complicated, but thanks for the advice! 🙂November 24, 2009 11:41 pm at 11:41 pm #669045Mommy613Member

any person who is wasting their time getting up early to shop should never have an excuse to not learn torah
if u want to go shop at least while waiting on line bring a sefer or something to learnNovember 25, 2009 3:56 pm at 3:56 pm #669047A600KiloBearParticipant
Seriously, I would avoid the BF sales and instead look for online specials. There is an h1n1 epidemic, and high unemployment means that the risk of being pickpocketed in a crowded store is higher as well.
Besides, I always used to wait until the end of their holidays, in fact well into January and really score bargains at the 70 – 80% off level on very good schoire that was super-reduced for the end of the season.November 25, 2009 5:58 pm at 5:58 pm #669048luv2hackMember

What 600kilo says is true, you can really get big bargains in January. That I have done a couple of times.November 26, 2009 2:13 am at 2:13 am #669050lmParticipant
I don’t think its a good idea to go shopping on Erev Shabbos especialy on the short Fridays. Friday shopping should be only LeKuved Shabbos like food flowers nosh etc special for Shabbos only.November 30, 2009 2:04 am at 2:04 am #669051luv2laffMember
frum yidden should not be shoppig on black friday.Do we have to follow and belike the guyim. Time is precious its not meant to wait on line and waste time. The malls and outlets are ovecrowede with guyim everywhere .We should remain seperate and holy.November 30, 2009 2:49 am at 2:49 am #669053ronrsrMember

Pardon my ignorance, I have been living in Eretz Yisrael for twenty years, I do not recall the name Black Friday from my days in the USA, in fact it is only this year that I came across it in web publications. It was always known simply as “the Friday after Thanksgiving” or “Thanksgiving Friday”, when did they start calling it Black Friday and why? Did some tragedy happen then? Is it somehow related to Black September?November 30, 2009 3:20 pm at 3:20 pm #669055YW Moderator-80Member
Black means it is good for business and takes their accounts out of the red and into the black (positive balances are written in black ink, negative balances are written in red ink)December 1, 2009 6:40 am at 6:40 am #669056
many of the best deals now in deptartment stores, as they have serious messes
due to the eager crowds, so they take the shirts, that the packaging got opened up a little, the ties that are loose or lost their label, dump them on tables,
with tags of 50% off plus an additional 25% off.
Macy’s is a great example. So grab your wallet & cards, and go get some Metzias!
Happy hunting!December 1, 2009 11:38 pm at 11:38 pm #669057williMember
