His royal highness…i dont understand what you were trying to say in your last comment!

I’m not too good at explaining things in simple terms. I usually just order off with her head when someone fails to grasp it.

His Royal Highness: “better to wear a blue shirt in the week. Enhances the Kovod for shabos when you wear white.

Kovod Habriyos should indicate one should wear white during the week too.”

according to that logic, why stop at a white shirt? For kavod Habriyos tuxedos should be worn all week long too…

If you look at the famous picture of R” Moshe Feinstein zt”l where he’s sitting at a table learning in a field, you can see his shirt has stripes on it! *GASP* R’ Moshe’s shirt wasn’t completely white!

Jolly – What is the connection between a brisker and white?

    #754811

Did R’ Moshe ever wear a blue shirt during the week?

    Why not?

    Thanx for caring!

My husband only wears white for Shabbos because he says he likes to have something set aside special for Shabbos.

He said the year he was in Beis Medrash and was required to wear white during the week also, wearing his suit with a white shirt for Shabbos didn’t feel as special.

Many reasons why a boy might be wearing a non-white shirt. You need to find out each person’s own reason for it and go from there; dangerous to generalize.

real-brisker.. cuz i know that briskers (at least most of them) only wear white

Kovod Habriyos should indicate one should wear white during the week too.

I guess I have a definite lack of Kavod HaBrios since I make it a point to NEVER wear white during the week (barring special occasions).

Oh well, I guess that’s another reason that I’m considered such a lowlife bum in some circles.

Jolly – I said what you quoted in jest.

My point on the previous page was that if clothes don’t matter, would you mind dating someone wearing a t-shirt and shorts? And if not on the date, if he wore those clothes during the week.

    His Royal Highness:

Would you please explain why one shouldn’t wear a tuxedo all week long, according to your reasoning that kavod habriyot should dictate one should wear a white shirt the entire week?

    #754819

His Royal.. – if you dont see a difference between a blue shirt and shorts then there is something wrong… if you had a choice to wear a blue shirt and regular pants or a t shirt and shorts to go visit a gadol hador im sure u wud pick the blue shirt… obviously shorts and tees are not exceptable for certain occasion… its like saying would i date someone wearing pj’s on date OBVIOUSLY NOT! that is a not such a great mashal sorry

    #754820

Tuxedo? I wouldn’t even wear that if I went to meet the Godol HaDor.

I’m still wondering why R’ Moshe, R’ Yaakov, R’ Aharon, the Satmar Rebbe, the Skulener Rebbe, R’ Pam, R’ Shmuel Berenbaum, and yblch”t R’ Dovid Feinstein all wore white shirts during the week.

    Anyone have any idea?

In an appropriate setting, I would have no issues (other than the fact I am married LOL) dating a guy wearing shorts and a tshirt.
