Planes being attacked. Times Square, Buses left on bridge. Shoes. Microwaves. No-fly list not working. Attempted terrorist attacks or scares popping out all over.
What is happening? What is going on?

Oh please. Do you think that if McCain won, the extremists would simply have given up?

No but I think that while Bush was in office, he used all his power to protect our country.

That may or may not be true, but it’s really beside the point since Bush wasn’t going to be in office now regardless of how the election turned out.
Oomis’ comment made it seem that this is all Obama’s fault and that had he not been elected, we wouldn’t have the problems mentioned in the OP. That is simply not true.

All I said was Obama happened.
I don’t recall saying what you stated, Wolf, so it’s kind of unfair to tell me what I make anything seem, would you not agree? I happen to disapprove of Obama, I think he is a phoney, a fraud, and a foolish and poor excuse for the head of this country, and I hate that he was elected. He has not only not proved himself to be an inspirational leader, he is making our country weaker and weaker, and in the eyes of a Muslim, any show of weakness is inevitably fatal.
I was not crazy about McCain, but I think he at least had our country’s welfare at heart. He also has chops and experience that Obama does not. Is he perfect – not by a long shot. But he is not a muslim sympathizer and apologist, either. Neither he nor his wife has any real respect for this country. You are known by the company whom you keep, and he has consistently refused to decry Jeremiah Wright’s anti-Semitic rants, and looked to him as his role model.
No matter what this country’s problems are, Obama has made them far worse. And the chutzpah that he allowed to be shown to Netanyahu is an abomination.

There were rabanim urging ppl not to vote for obama yet ppl thought they knew better and voted regardless. Obama has made many problems worse. However, I don’t think we can blame him for this stuff-It’s simply galus! THere may have been some steps that the officials could have taken to prevent stuff from happening-hopefully they learned their lesson.

Oomis, when someone states that a phenomenon is going on and asks “what happened?” and you say “Obama happened,” the implication is that Obama is (at least partly) the cause. Otherwise, what was the point of your statement?
I didn’t vote for Obama either, but if McCain had won the election, many of the same problems would still exist.

May 14, 2010 12:21 am at 12:21 am #685084hereorthereMemberThese problems would very likely not exist or be much smaller if liberals had never had any power in this country.
Obama is part of the problem because he is a liberal promoting liberal policies and agendas.
But obviously he was not the first or only liberal.
Bush was also a liberal just not as bad as Obama.
Bush did a few things right but there was plenty of liberalism in his policies, as well.
But to find the roots of the problem you’d probably have to go back to the early 1800’s or so.
President Andrew Jackson, warned us not to have paper money, for example.
