Yekke, before you go back to Yeshiva, I just wanted to let you know that I have learned a lot from you during bein hazmanim. Thank you!

I personally heard from the mouth of the Gaon HaRav Leizer Ginsburg shlita (and I am paraphrasing here, but this was the gist of it) that the way to determine if someone is a ben torah (for real) is his attitude towards bein hazmanim. Is it with a sigh(Unfortunately, it will soon be bein hazmanim, and of course I have to help my family prepare for Pesach, and so on) or is it more like, “Thank G-d, it’s almost bein hazmanim. I look forward to it all year long.”

If someone needs to be mafsik his learning to save a drowning person, he must do so – and if he doesn’t, he is a murderer without question, but the guy who did not have to be mafsik did a bigger mitzvah! It’s the same idea here.

I know someone who came home bein hazmanim from Eretz Yisroel…..and made a siyum on a mesechta that he learnt bein hazmanim.

So I’m signing out for the last time this Bein Hazmanim.

Thank you to all the posters who keep this place meaningful, upbeat and interesting. Thank you to all the moderators for giving us the medium for Kosher discussions, and for allowing me/us to test your patience. I apologise for posts that were too long or incoherent.

Lilmod Ulelameid – More than once this month I had something I was about to write, and I retracted last minute because it wasn’t Loshon Tov. I think you can take credit for both of them. I am definitely more careful now than I once was. And thank you for taking interest in my posts and responding, especially in the Kabbalas Loshon Horo thread.

I won’t be back before Tisha Ba’av, and let’s hope by then, we will all be in Yerushalayim HaBenuya celebrating the autherntic Geulah.

Oh, and by the way, you can definitely take credit for all of the times when I almost responded to something and didn’t because I realized there really was no reason to.

“let’s hope by then, we will all be in Yerushalayim HaBenuya celebrating the autherntic Geulah.”

    Amen!

Too bad – I just wrote a bunch of posts in response to you one the “Kiruv advice thread”. I hope you get to see them before you go.

Thanks for letting me know that about the LH. I really, really, appreciate hearing that! (although I know that you’re super-careful about what you write anyhow).

My above post really should have read: “I have learned a tremendous amount from you in a short amount of time!”

I would say that the Coffee Room won’t be the same without you, but that would be kefira, since your learning does a lot more for Am Yisrael (and t/f the CR).

    Shteig Well!
