Two questions: (1) If President Biden says he will not commit an act of war against Russia without a declaration of war approved by Congress, would you want your Member of Congress and US Senators to vote for or against such a declaration?

    (2) Do you want Putin’s war on Ukraine to end with Russia’s defeat?

    (3) If your answer to question 2 is yes, do you want the US to participate in the war on the side of Ukraine. (And by “participate,” I mean using US pilots and planes to enforce a no-fly zone, and other acts of war by US military personnel.)

Please, first answer the 3 question, then you can add any comments you think are responsive or relevant to the issues I have raised.

No, it is too dangerous with nuclear weapons around.

Hey, huju, you idiot, can’t you even count? It’s 3 questions, not 2.

On the principle that even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while, Biden is correct in requiring a Declaration of War or authorization of Congress for before taking military action against Russia (or anyone else, for that matter). Note, though, that there isn’t a Blumberg form for a Declaration of War and Congress could authorize military action short of full-out war such as enforcing a no-fly zone, naval blockade, providing arms, etc. Of course. Russia might very well consider such actions a de facto declaration of war and act accordingly.
The U.S. historically, has been reluctant to get involved in European wars. From George Washington’s advice to “avoid European entanglement” to our late entry into WWI and WWII, this has been a tradition in the U.S. (Re WWII, The U.S. didn’t declare war on Germany. Germany declared war on us.)

    Huju,

Huju’s statement is correct if the answer to number 2 is no

To Redleg: See ujm’s answer for a guide to the way to respond to my opening post. You offered a lot of weasley answers without unequivocally stating your responses. I did not ask resonders to read Putin’s mind, I asked responders to read their own minds.

A so -called “no fly zone” is an obvious act of war. America declares a no fly zone and one hour later Russian warplanes violate it. Does America shoot down Russian war planes? If so, America and Russia are immediately at war and Russia can shoot missiles into Washington and New York. If not, the no fly zone is a joke.

My ‘No’ above agrees with ujm.

While acknowledging risks of escalation, it is not clear how to define a boundary. I heard someone saying: “I am tired of Russians defining what is ‘offensive'”. Why is sending them stingers ok, but planes – not OK? Why is shooting missiles from Russia to Ukraine – ok, and from Poland to Ukraine – not OK? Russians are now saying that supplying weapons is also not OK (and bombed near the Polish border).

We can do something small first, like send a humanitarian convoy to one of the surrounded cities by land or even by sea and have it protected by force that can shoot in self-defense.

Hulu the Democrat anti war movement has led to 50% of Americans not willing to fight for their country. This country isn’t ready to tight a war. The standards for a general isn’t based on Mero anymore; its based on intersectionality garbage.

“Does anyone understand lakewhut’s last sentence?”

Yes. He says that the USA isn’t ready to fight a war. It is no longer a priority to bring in tough and deadly generals like Nero. Instead, the Pentagon is to make sure that it has enough diversity.

Even with all the “woke” stuff going on the military, some really necessary and some looney tunes, I have little doubt that our forces would wipe out any competitive force, especially after watching several weeks of Putin’s “manly” warriors in Ukraine.

To lakewhut and his translator, Interjection: (i) Nero was not a general, he was an emperor and mad man. (ii) How does “intersectionality” mean diversity? It is not merely a typo, like “Mero.” And the wisdom of diversity in the US military was established by, among other things, the Red Tail fighter escorts of the Air Force (or was it the Army Air Corps?) in the 1940’s.

Nero became a Yid. The fiddling accusation was a defamatory lible and slander against him by the goyim angry at his becoming Jewish.

Huju, where did you look it up? The Medrash mentions that Nero became a Jew but is there any other contemporary record of that? It’s true that Nero hated and persecuted Xians. There the ones who said all the bad things about him.
