The only place I’m forced to remain silent (gasp – with an open mouth) – while listening to someone else.
How are you? (aaaggghhhh)
Your family? (aaaggghhhh)

Oh. One more thing.
Why do those instruments of torture make such frightening “dentist office” sounds. (could at least have them emit soft soothing classical music..)February 7, 2014 8:48 pm at 8:48 pm #1004431
Please – I am going through a LOT of dental work right now, and it is NOT great to have a thread about it. “Is it safe?”February 9, 2014 2:11 am at 2:11 am #1004432
Many dentists play classical music. I find it unnerving. Dont try to fool me into a false sense of security!February 9, 2014 2:43 am at 2:43 am #1004433TheGoqParticipant

Dentists are people stuck psychologically at the stage at which a person sticks his fingers into other people’s mouths (6-12 months).February 9, 2014 4:12 am at 4:12 am #1004435
WIY, I wasn’t referring to the sounds on their central music system. I was referring to the sounds those instruments of torture emit. Added for extra effect!
Oomis: I’m sorry you’re going through anything “uncomfortable”. What’s not safe about having a thread about it. (you’re lucky you’re going through the work. Mine started a major renovation project and abruptly took a break to Vacation Land, U.S.A. – “any emergency, follow me”)February 9, 2014 4:57 am at 4:57 am #1004436

and Oomis – you’re not the only one with tooth renovation projects.February 10, 2014 4:25 am at 4:25 am #1004443
My dentist lets me have a choice of music I listen to. Unfortunately, it’s a rather limited selection of children’s cassette tapes, like Sesame Street. I don’t know which sounds scarier: the dentist’s drill or Elmo’s voice. 😛 B”H, I take good care of myself post-Purim, and so does my dentist, so I rarely hear that drill.
@LAB – Come to think of it, the dentist’s drill sounds very similar to more “modern” music, complete with record scratches and other technologically-induced noises. No offense to Dr. Dreizech, of course!February 10, 2014 5:42 pm at 5:42 pm #1004444
Why don’t they give you the option of being unconscious most of the time? they want to see you suffer.

I just love going to the dentist. It’s a really enjoyable experience. Guess if I’m serious.February 17, 2014 4:02 pm at 4:02 pm #1004460
rebyidd- My guess is yes! For real! Dentists are so cool!
I love going to my dentist. He’s geshmak! He also happens to be my father, but on an objective level, he’s geshmak! Dentists are cool! They have these funky chairs, and all these cool instruments, and they employ physics and biology among other disciplines. They even get to paint sometimes and make cement, and sometimes that cement is color changing and basically dentists are really cool so everyone who isn’t so pleased with his/her dentist should just remember that dentists rock! The end.February 18, 2014 2:21 am at 2:21 am #1004461

That being said, were you speaking to me?February 18, 2014 5:33 am at 5:33 am #1004463
Smiley: No one was talking. And I doubt he was even referring to you. (or anyone, right?)
I LOVE the way you put it. Hey maybe he’s my dentist? (maybe I ask him tomorrow, that reminds me, ouch)February 18, 2014 5:34 am at 5:34 am #1004464
Yes, I was. However, I do not trust geometry teachers.February 18, 2014 7:05 am at 7:05 am #1004465
Thanks LF 🙂 Refuah Shlaima!
rebyidd- I’m not sure I understand what your assumption is based off of. Would you care to elaborate? Thanks!
(And for the record, she’s an awesome geometry teacher!)February 18, 2014 9:14 pm at 9:14 pm #1004466
Dentists are evil. And so are 89.4% of geometry teachers.February 19, 2014 4:13 am at 4:13 am #1004467
rebyidd-you were so so close to having a good argument, but you forgot one of the most important aspects-a qualifier. You may or may not have a valid point on geometry teachers, but because you generalize all dentists as evil, you lose the case. Besides, you wouldn’t be calling my father evil would you? Cuz then i may have to take drastic measures.:)February 19, 2014 5:05 am at 5:05 am #1004468
Smiley: I forgot to ask today if he has any children prowling on the CR, until my mouth was out of commission (see opening remark). But no, they’re not evil at all (for a price)February 19, 2014 5:59 am at 5:59 am #1004469
I’m not generalizing–good people don’t grow up dreaming of becoming dentists, and besides, I wasn’t aware that it was a serious argument.February 19, 2014 1:05 pm at 1:05 pm #1004470
Little Froggie-he doesn’t know what the CR is 🙂
rebyidd-What makes you think that it is a serious argument? I’m not being any more serious than you are…February 19, 2014 4:34 pm at 4:34 pm #1004471
Smiley: You’re not serious?!? Do you mean your father is not really a dentist?!? And the one who I went to (if that was your father) may actually just be a shoe maker?!? (no wonder my teeth…)
I WANT MY TEETH BACK!!February 20, 2014 6:05 am at 6:05 am #1004472
I didn’t say it was a serious argument; I said I wasn’t aware that it was one.
