I am curious if anyone shares my level of rage at the designed of Christian Dior?

I heard Christian Dior is owned by Louis Vuitton, so I guess it should not surprise anyone!

John Galliano, the head designer for Christian Dior, was arrested for anti-semitism a couple days ago.

Not terribly shocked. These are arei Edom, that we are talking about.

He was fired from the design house Christian Dior. They do not wish to have anything to do with anti-semites. He was their Head Designer and they gave him the boot. They made no excuses for him and they moved quickly. Kudos!

Speaking your mind should not be against the law as long as he was not harassing anyone he should not have been arrested, i don’t agree with his idiotic views but to go to prison for saying he loves hitler? is insane. Thank g-d i live in America.

They fired the designer immediately and expressed their outrage. Natalie Portman (a Jewish girl, btw) was to wear a Galliano design to the Academy Awards, but when she heard of his Amto-Semitic remarks, showed her contempt and support by refusing to wear the gown he made for her. Not that this is so crucial in the scheme of things, but this fool was shown the gate for his indiscreet mouthing off.

The Goq, your views are so far from Da’as Torah and even common sense of an am ha’aretz. We do not believe in this garbage of unlimited free speach. Too bad that you have been brain-washed by the American values(r’l).

Galliano was obviously so drunk he forgot that he lives an alternate lifestyle, which Hitler y”s hated just as much. He would have been killed just the same.

    mdd,

I don’t think Goq was advocating free speech on a personal level, but saying that we should be grateful to live in a country where government stays out of thees things. Otherwise, we might be next, c”v.

so mdd u would like to see people arrested for their drunken banter?

that is ridiculis, yes he’s an idiot but does not deserve to be imprisoned for that offense.

Where in the Torah do we see a case of someone being brought to Beis Din for having said something wrong? it is actions that matter.

    Words are not just air

as Yidden we believe speaking forms a creation for the good and for the …………….

Why then does the Gemara tell us how the Torah is so careful what words it uses, Loshon Nekia.

The Gemara says that someone that uses Nivul Peh , even if he was to have seventy good years it will be overturned to B.. Chas Vesholom. Ahhhhh “just words”

I don’t know why you’re all so impressed that he was fired. They fired him because they are terrified it will ruin their business. Not because they love us.

They’re all screaming anti semitism inside.

Ofcourse, it is not true. He hated the Jews the most. As far as the ba’alei toeva go, he personally did not care so much.

France has much bigger problems than this bozo.

It has been over run by moslems, and French “culture” (such as it is) is in serious danger of being wiped out in the next 20-30 years.

French Jews, as many of you probably know, have suffered numerous attacks, and cannot safely walk in the streets with a yarmulka.

MANY have already, or are in the process of making aliya.

To AinOhdMilvado: A recent article in YWN reports a 50% drop in anti-Semitic crimes in France in 2010 vs. 2009.

As for Mr. Galliano, it is appropriate that his career appears to be flaming out.

    nfgo3…

    I don’t believe that report.

There are a million ways to twist words and twist statistics.

-It reminds me of the Israeli politicians who “promise” they will never divide Jerusalem, but (like in “clintonese”) what they mean is that they “promise” that AFTER they give half of Jerusalem away to arab control, THEN the part that they keep, THAT part they wont divide.-

Personally? Afaik, what he said, was rule!

    This is from Wikipedia:

….Ruediger Lautman believes that the death rate of h’s in concentration camps may have been as high as 60%. H’s in the camps were treated in an unusually cruel manner by their captors.

    #746717

ruediger lautman was very possibly gay and his “research” very possibly skewed by this.

he says “H’s in the camps were treated in an unusually cruel manner by their captors.”

can you explain to me what this unusual cruelty was that he implies superseded how Yidden were treated?

To AinOhdMilvado: Yes, statistics can be abused, and a one-year change is not necessarily a lasting change. But YWN reported it, so it must be true. 🙂

And speaking of Jerusalem: The boundaries of Eretz Yisrael are spelled out in the Torah, but are the boundaries of Jerusalem likewise spelled out? I asked a knowledgeable rabbi, and he said they are not, but that the parts of Jerusalem that cannot be shared or given to non-Jews would be the Jewish holy sites. In my view, it does not matter what we give away, as we get it all back when Moshiach comes.

mdd, the degree of Hitler’s hatred of baalei toeiva can be debated, but he certainly wasnt in love with them. By comparison, Galliano clearly said “I love H!” y”s.

The House of Dior did not have to fire him nor do so in such a swift manner. People are forgiving and they forget. They would NOT have lost their business if they would have kept him under suspension for 6 months until it died down, and no one would have known if he quietly went back to work.

So again KUDOS to the House of Dior of taken swift and precise action against this Jew hater!!!

Re: Yerushalayim and “it does not matter what we give away, as we get it all back when Moshiach comes.”

    That is true.

We will get it all back. That’s why I don’t get all upset when I hear about arabs building nice homes in Eretz Yisrael, i.e. eventually it WILL all be ours.

NEVERTHELESS, it is STILL a chilul HaSh-m ve’haAretz to give it away to the yishmael savages (or anyone else).

BTW… I believe you are correct that the boundaries of Yerushalayim are not exactly spelled out (and sorry I forgot the source of this but I did learn…) because “ba’Yom HaHu”… Yerushalayim will be expanded to include ALL of Eretz Yisrael, and Eretz Yisrael will be expanded to include the whole world.

Goq, a person can be executed for blasphemy, avoda zara (by saying “you are my god” to an idol) and insulting a melech for words alone.

Meanwhile, so-called Proud Jew Natalie Portman is about to marry a non-Jew. She is the problem, not some drunk mishigginer who claims he loves Hitler YMS when he himself would have been gassed because he is an M”Z’er.

Galliano is off to rehab, which is where he belongs. Either that, or he’ll emulate fellow MZ’er Alexander McQueen who is now a Gay in der erd.

As for Dior, the last name of the head of the firm is Toledano, a 100% Jewish surname. These wacko designers depend on Jews for their bread; somewhere along the line from designer to manufacturer to wholesaler there is at least one Jewish exec or firm and many of them are frum or traditional.

The real shanda is the so-called proud Jew.

Actually, Galliano can become the official designer of Libya if Ghadaffi remains in power. Ghadaffi shares his taste in clothing.

As an aside, I am dressing up as Ghadaffi for Purim, time and money permitting (we have loads of yard goods shops here but I don’t know how long a seamstress will take to sew what I need or how much it will cost). Does anyone have Galliano’s phone number – I can be his first free practice client!
