I was driving and I saw a Yeshiva Bus Driver blow a red light. I’m not talking about driving through a yellow. It was red and then he just went through it and the lead driver of the intersecting street had to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting the bus. What would you do in this situation? Would you contact the school?

I don’t think Yeshivas put much effort into investigating their drivers or their driving records. I would start off by asking if there is a monitor on the bus. I would also ask at what time all the children are off the bus. I would feel better knowing that no kids were on the bus when he acted so carelessly, although he could have caused an accident regardless if there were kids on the bus or not. I would be much more upset if there were kids on the bus. I highly doubt the school will do anything if there were no kids on the bus.
December 15, 2010 11:55 pm at 11:55 pm #717649Sister BearMemberUm yeah call the school because he’s a reckless driver and he’s lucky nothing happened but if he continues driving like that, then there could very well be a next time which they might not be so lucky.

December 16, 2010 1:31 am at 1:31 am #717651kapustaParticipantI would say to contact the school but maybe dont give the exact bus number, or location where you saw the bus. All bus drivers could use a reminder from time to time about safety, as can all drivers.
December 16, 2010 4:03 am at 4:03 am #717652WIYMemberThe bus went past very quickly I didnt see how many people were on the bus.
