Newegg.com is offering free-after-rebate antivirus today only.
The software available is:
1) McAfee Internet Security 2011 – 3 User $60 minus $60 mail-in-rebate
2) Symantec Norton Antivirus 2011 – 3 User $35 minus $35 mail-in-rebate
3) TREND MICRO Titanium AntiVirus + 3 User $45 minus $45 mail-in-rebate
The above three offers ship free and tax is only charged for CA, TN and NJ
Personally, I use AVG antivirus which is always free, since the above three offers will probably get you on the renewal fees in a year, but for those who prefer commercial antivirus products, this may interest you.
This offer info was gotten from deals2buy.com and can be looked up there for links.

August 4, 2011 7:38 am at 7:38 am #794377YW Moderator-42ModeratorI never understood why people make such a big deal out of these Anti-virus programs. I have used Microsoft Security Essentials as well as AVG which are both very good and very free. Why would anyone pay for something like McAfee or Norton. I think they are all a rip off considering the free ones that are available. I understand that the ones listed are free after rebate but why hock with a rebate and as ICOT mentioned, they will get u for a renewal in a year. I have also found some of these programs to be annoying and slow down the computer. AVG doesn’t seem to do that. It just quietly runs in the background.
August 4, 2011 8:43 am at 8:43 am #794378600 Kilo BearMemberI don’t know why I chose Avast over AVG this time around (new computer back in Shvat). I was very pleased with AVG on my last machine – it just might be my nature to try new things. In fact, after a year of McAfee I went over to AVG last time.
I would be banned if I told you what I really think about Norton; I’ll use the strongest word that they allow here which is dwek.
Either Avast or AVG is a better deal than these rebates.

August 4, 2011 6:12 pm at 6:12 pm #794381MiddlePathParticipantI use Microsoft Security Essentials and I have Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, just in case. Both are free.
August 4, 2011 6:17 pm at 6:17 pm #794382600 Kilo BearMemberI have a few anti-malwares. The one I keep loaded at all times is Spybot – Search and Destroy. The interface is a bit primitive but it does a good job.
August 4, 2011 6:33 pm at 6:33 pm #794383bb8ParticipantI had Microsoft Security Essentials on my computer I ended up getting a virus on my computer. Since then I have Avast and Malwarebyte so far so good.
