The tragic petira of Reb Moshe Yosef Reichenberg, who was literally moser nefesh to save others, has been extensively reported upon; both on frum sites like this one and in the secular news media.

As has also been reported, his family could use financial assistance.

Today being the first of Elul, this is an especially good time to partake in the mitzvah of tzedaka.

Personally, I never met him, nor do I have any affiliation with Ohr Somayach.

Nonetheless, my take is that after he gave his life helping another family, how can we not give to help his family?

    Gut chodesh.

Just a bump for a very worthy cause.

If you’re thinking of giving something, it’s best to do so ASAP before it slips your mind. If you’re not sure how much to give, even a small amount now guarantees at least something is contributed, and you can always send more later.

ICOT, Thank you for this. They really could use the money and the caring you have displayed for someone you don’t know is touching.

    Thank you – tizku lemitzvos.

    I, too, sent something in.

Not as much as I would have liked to, but every little bit helps.

    Bump.

    Two weeks until Rosh Hashona.

May there be no need for such appeals in the upcoming year.
