Who would be considered the gedolim of today?

That will depend of course by whos yardstick you use.
Rav Elyashev, Rav Kanievsky, Rav Shteinman, Gerrer Rebbe, Skulener Rebbe, etc.
That also depends on whom you count. Some people like to believe that anyone without the same political ideas as them can’t be Gedolim.
What happened to choosing a Gadol because of his “mesorah” and his level of Talmid Chochom and then accepting what he says regardless of whether I agree with him or not?
Abba bar (I would Capitalize “Bar”.) Aristotle; The measure of a true Gadol is, that he is very careful with his words and doesn’t call a press conference every Monday and Thursday to throw out statements and “Issurim” Right and Left.

There is a very prominent Mara D’asra and Posek in Flatbush who travels to Eretz Yisroel every few months to present Shailos to Maran Elyashiv Shlita. Approximately 3 years ago he asked Maran Shlita whom he considers to be the biggest Poskim in America. He answered in no particular order, Rav Dovid Feinstein, Shlita, Rav Shmuel Kamenetzky, Shlita and Rav Yisroel Belsky, Shlita. If you consider Canada, there is Rav Shlomo Miller, Shlita.

Sam2: I do not make the list, nor was I the one who asked Maran Elyashiv, Shlita,, I am only reporting what I heard from the wife of chushova yid who uses this Posek and was told this information first hand..
