I believe that in the Gemara, there is reference made to women being of a “different species”. Men are very different. It takes patience to understand us.
But its all worth it.June 27, 2011 12:15 am at 12:15 am #781727

Klatch: A person in their right mind must find the right person for them. women are generally better than men.June 27, 2011 1:05 am at 1:05 am #781738
I agree. A woman *is* better for a man to marry.June 27, 2011 1:25 am at 1:25 am #781739
shein. i totally didn’t mean it like that. I was trying to hint that the OP was hating on women and it was annoying me. But I deleted a sentence I felt was too inflammatory and now the post doesn’t make sense.June 27, 2011 2:52 am at 2:52 am #781740
Seriusly how does any sane man ever marry a girl?
If you’re asking the question, you obviously have not found the right girl.
The WolfJune 27, 2011 2:07 pm at 2:07 pm #781742
Girls are from much further out of our solar system than just Venus.June 27, 2011 2:09 pm at 2:09 pm #781743
If “sane” means at least half way mature, than it’s possible.June 27, 2011 5:10 pm at 5:10 pm #781744
Actually the Gemarah ponders this question.
??? ??? ??? .. ???? ??? .. ???? ???? ?????
So we do Ratzon HaShem by marrying. For incentive he made them ??? ??? ??? ???? because ??? ??? ??? ?????.
It’s not me, it’s a medrash. ?? ??? ??? ???? ?? ???, ??? ??? ?????? ??? ?????. If you ever wonder, why the natural urge (- drive), what’s it purpose in this world. Of course it’s one of the biggest nosyonos of a man, but HaShem wouldn’t have created it JUST for tempting and testing a man. The answer is, without it man would not get married. Period. It’s not worth it financially, spiritually and physically. Why bother? So HaShem made this great miracle of attraction to set things in motion. Think about it – it’s a glue created by miracle. ???? ???? ???. Chazal in times of Anshei K’neses Hagdolah came to realize this importance, when they tried to do away with this greatest yetzer.
Nowadays, the selfish people of the decaying society grab the urge but throw away the commitment. ???? ?? ????? ???? ?? ????, they go after all lusts (natural and unnatural) but don’t marry. Or marry selfishly and divorce when initial attraction wears. SAD! Chazal say that Yaakov Avinu had initially wanted to divorce Leah (for his Holy reasons), so HaShem hurriedly sent children her way. Yaakov Avinu then said “How can I send away the Mother of these?”. He worked it out – eventually she stayed as the ???? ????. How differently than today’s selfish ones. WE HAVE A LOT TO LEARN!June 27, 2011 6:51 pm at 6:51 pm #781745
women are generally better than men.
what does this mean? I can ask the same question the other way- how do women marry men. They are so sure of themselves they wont even ask someone else for directions!!!June 27, 2011 8:06 pm at 8:06 pm #781746
As someone who has been married for quite some time, I can say with total sincerity, that despite a few minor annoyances that we need to make peace with (seat up / seat down, roll under / roll over, ect) there is nothing better than being married to a good spouse.
I could not imagine what life would be like were I alone.June 27, 2011 8:32 pm at 8:32 pm #781747
I can tell you what its like. It’s lonely and empty and no one that really understands you. You talk to this one about something and then someone else about something else…. you have no stability. you do whatever YOU think is right…. no one guiding you and constantly believing in you and helping you become a better person. It’s tough!June 27, 2011 8:53 pm at 8:53 pm #781749
” It’s tough! “
Nu, so don’t just stand there, take the steps towards making your reality something you are happy about.
No matter what your “brand” you can do your homework and find the person that is right for you. Once you know what you want, setting the ball in motion is easy. Don’t be held hostage by the “system”. If your parents / friends / realtives are stalled, talk to the Rov / Rebbetizn in your life and tell them what you seek. You’d be surprised at what comes across their desk.
And if that does not yield results, talk to another Rov / Rebbetizn that is from a similar shul / background. Networking is the key to success.
Oh, and lest you think I forgot professional shadchanim, I did not. The omission was intentional.
You’ve got more going for you than they can appreicate. Don’t settle for less.June 27, 2011 8:59 pm at 8:59 pm #781750
what makes you say that I’m not doing my best and that my parents are not trying their best. To be very honest, I was hurt by your comment. What makes you think that we are sitting back and doing nothing? we are not still single because we are lazy but rather because Hashem wants us to be this way. we are networking. we are trying. but it takes lots of effort and Hashem is the one that makes it happen not our efforts (although they do help and thats hishtadlus but in the end its not up to us!)June 27, 2011 9:08 pm at 9:08 pm #781751
Not for one second did I mean to imply that you / your family are not doing their utmost to find you a proper shidduch.
From your post, it sounded like you had hit a wall, so I was offering an alternative suggestion.
Sorry. The comments were made in frustation of how the “system” fails to value those of less than A++ rating.
Best of luck whatever your route.June 27, 2011 9:17 pm at 9:17 pm #781752
your post sounded like you thought we are single because we are sitting at home waiting for mr. perfect to knock on the door and beg. Far from it. I will give up of lots of things. I will NOT give up on lots of things….. thats how it is. I am single because he just didnt come around ( no not mr perfect but mrs perfect for me!)June 27, 2011 9:18 pm at 9:18 pm #781753
adorable – yes that is the way I would ask the question, hence Hashem made girls want to marry more than men do.June 27, 2011 9:28 pm at 9:28 pm #781754
i am not sure what question you are referring toJune 27, 2011 9:51 pm at 9:51 pm #781755
bpt: “I could not imagine what life would be like were I alone”.
Rabbi Tatz describes the life alone.
You grill a burger, open the yellow pages and place burger on yellow pages.
When you are done, rip out the page and throw it in the garbage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s the single life!June 28, 2011 10:35 am at 10:35 am #781756

I also have something against professional shadchanim. I had a very very bad experience with a famous one….
