MW – Firstly, mbachur asked you which Rama you claimed said so. After failing to identify which Rama you allegedly cited, you changed your recollection “off the top of your head” from the MaHari Vayl to the MaHari Bruna. So I’ll ask again, specifically which Rama paskens like (what is now) the MaHari Bruna?
Secondly, as I said earlier their is an open and explicit Shulchan Aruch (which I cited) that paskens Kol Kevuda is halacha, in addition to the Gemorah’s I cited and the Rambam (putting aside the whole host of medrashim) and a black and white posek in Tehillim itself. Not to mention just about every major posek, past and present, that addressed it i.e. Shu”t Seridei Aish Even HaEzer 78:21 (as well as Rav Moshe, Rav H. Schachter, etc.)
Last I checked the Shulchan Aruch is still applicable in the 21st century.
If Kol Kevuda is halacha, how do you send women out to work, even for men to sit and learn.
Also, no one ever answered if a persons yard (and women congregating there) is considered chatzer. AFAIK, women are allowed to “hang out” in the chatzer.

you were quoting sfardi sources (rambam, shulchan aruch). but it’s true, if the rema doesn’t quote it, you can’t say he holds it!

mbachur, for some reason, I cant see certain pages on this post. Its wierd.
SJS – I have the same problem. Are you using IE6 or some other unsupported browser? For some reason, word wrap doesn’t work properly and all that appears is the rightmost part of the page (where no text except the too-long word can be seen).
This usually happens only when someone posts a link, because normal words don’t run that long. The way to fix this would be if everyone who posted a link would use code so that only a placeholder for the link would appear instead of the text of the link. I don’t think it’s fair to ask the mods to do this for others.
The fix would be to copy and paste the below, and put the link you want to post inside the quotes (” “):

that could be that it doesn’t apply for working but for shmoozing in the street it for sure applies (meaning if it’s l’toeles)
and as i said before a chatzer is an inclosed part of a person’s property so can be considered penimah
