How did U find out about cr?

my daughter turned me onto YWN… then I starting reading in the CR.
i discovered it myself and told all my friends about it and my screen name…….woops bad move! lol
Loooong ago, when the YW Editor used to write on the News Home page, in the comments section, that any comment for this article should be posted in the CR!

After you figure out how to start a thread, you can start one asking how to get to the CR.
my sis showed me the yeshiva world news site. and then i looked through the website and i saw the cr. and then joined. I love it it keeps me busy
Haleivi you took the words right out of my keyboard! I also havent forgotten that thread of zk and the helpful posters who showed her how to do it! Wow so you also have a shticky sense of humor then! Lets see it more often.
Anyone here know how to use a computer. All those funny looking buttons on a ‘keyboard’? What are they for?
I was actually looking for the bathroom, but opened the wrong door.
Oh…. way back when… I used to be addicted to YWN and used to comment on all the news sites and lo and behold they decided to start a coffee room… at first I wasnt into it. But then i decided to be… and joined and became one of the coffee room zomnies that never slept… and watched as more and more mods joined 😉 remember when we were all guessing who’s a mod??
I realized I was so addicted when I started asking for help from fellow CR ppl to clean off the snow from my buried car (is asdf still on here anymore???) then I realized I was in a bubble that had to pop and so I ran for dear life from the CR with an occasional here and there.
Every so often (like once in 3 months I check up on it but… )
Remember when the dvar torah page and rule page and shmiras halashon pages started???
wait… so how did I find the coffee room again?
I tripped on some coffee and haven’t finished cleaning yet so I am still here … Seriously though I knew YWN existed and after hearing YWN this and YWN that I decided to check things out for myself and saw in bold red letters YWN coffee room. Open up, check things out and I just had to join. Things petered out quite a bit during my absence though as the old timers I knew/know slowly but surely disappeared (jax, asdfghjkl, mepal, etc, etc, etc). Kinda on my last legs here myself. Not sure how upset I will be to actually leave though.

i think i first found out about the YWN and started reading it and somehow got started on the Coffeeroom….now I dont even look at the front page and go straight to the coffeeroom!
I found the coffee room when I was a young child and wandered into my Yeshiva’s coffee room. Ever since, I was addicted to that room where I used to pick up on some mature talk. It was probably the place where I got the nack for politics and other intellectual topics (I like to think that politics is intellectual although it isn’t nowadays).
When I left Yeshiva, I longed for the coffee room. After many years, Yeshiva World came to the rescue. However, it seems like the members of this coffee room prefer chit-chat over intellectual topics ;(
stam coffee goes best with chit-chat
lattes and espresso are best for intellectual discussions
