I figured out a few by now, obviously. But many are a mystery.Any way to know?

It’s better off a mystery. Less chance for mischief.

Just gotta keep figuring it out. It’s not that difficult, with a little time. I don’t know why the mods can’t put a little ‘m’ or ‘f’ by each person’s name though. Oh, and I’m an ‘m’ by the way.

For some of us it is easy.

It might be better without it. The coversations won’t stop, it will only cause trouble.

I agree with Trying (his?/her?) Best.

Even if you are talking to your own gender, other genders rerad your posts, so its important to keep the info as squeaky clean as possible.

In addition to gender considerations, there are ages and marital statuses other than your own that read the posts you make, so its best to stay on the safe side.

Eclipse, I would also rather know, and I have also figured out most. You can tell a lot by what they get tzihizt over.

Anyone can fake male or female pretty well. You just can’t know.

I have a trick that has never failed.

If the poster is right, they’re male. If wrong they’re Female.

(thank G-D no one knows who i am, so i know i won’t get hurt 🙂

chesedname, by your own (false) logic, you must be female.

LOL. I didn’t even realize that my screen name could be read as yita something, it has nothing to do with the name Yita. It’s a rather corny yeshivishe play on words, that is, “ur tayning (claiming) what?” a yeshivishe phrase used to ask someone what he means to say.

Chesedname is male, unless he/she is a liar. See, for example, http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/breach-in-tznius-recent-affliction-attacking-klal-yisroel, a little over a quarter of the way down.

SJS, I started thinking about your post, and my brain started to fry…

    I’m a 95-year-old man. 🙂

And by the way, as I’m not a word, I don’t have a gender.

    haifagirl-

I happen to agree to what I think is your unspoken point, but fyi according to the online dictionary http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/gender the term gender was used correctly according to the second definition.

95 y/o? We REALLY gotta watch what we say around you. The smallest thing could give a geezer like you a coronary, and would’nt that be a CR bummer.

But tell us, what was the CR like in the days before electrcity? Oh wait, 95.. forget electricity. What was it like before coffee was discovered?

It was really tough. All we had to drink was dinosaur milk.

I’m Orthodox. I don’t hold by “reform” dictionaries.

I think people just say stupid things to make others think things some are kinda obvious but others are kinda tricky like me…!
