Am I crazy for wanting to hear this song? It’s been a long while, and I still wish someone would sing it.

    #1114065

the songs made today by yidden are TERRIBLY SICK & are coming straight from the goyim, taking our frum children to C”V follow the ways of the goyim R”L

where are our tierre torah children gonna be holding in frumkeit in 10 years from now? can YOU assist me? im too afraid to even think about it, & then everyone will wonder where it came from.

remove these new types of music (from goyish rock to jazz etc…) from your mikdash me’at ASAP. how can YOU expect Hashem to rest in it among you & your family if this type of music is in your home?

May Hashem open up your eyes ASAP to see whats really happening so you will remove it ASAP before its too late & innocent frum children get hurt.

I’ll sing it for you. I don’t know the song though, so I would need someone to sing it for me first.

    Mashiach Agent:

You do realize that “Bubby I Love You” is a song that was NEVER produced, and is one hundred percent Jewish?

Plus, what music do you recommend?

    #1114068

nice & calm (versus rocken) beautiful music that is sang with enjoyment of what the words mean & thanks to Hashem.

to make a person happy through music-which he enjoys-it doesn’t need to be jazz or rocken to be enjoyed. theres so much nice songs that are beautiful & with a frum torah taam.

    #1114069

(One thing Jewish musicians have so far not copied from

non-Jewish musicians is non-indicative song titles.)

Seeing as he liked Rabbi Luft’s booklet,

he’d probably recommend Rabbi Luft’s CD.

    Mashiach Agent:

Do you really think that if a Jewish child receives a good chinuch

from parents they have a good relationship with, except that the

Jewish music that you don’t approve of is played in their home,

that child is more likely to develop bad middos and/or do aveiros

than a child who grows up under the same circumstances, but

without the music that you don’t approve of?

when you say “music that you don’t approve of” instead of saying inappropriate music is that your way of trying to justify listening to that type of music or minimizing the inappropriateness of it?

Music is very personal tastes, what one person thinks is noise, others like and what one person might thinks as calm and nice, others think as boring and puts one to sleep

I like calm, beautiful music and fast excited music depending on my mood. Both have their place.

(“Rocken” is not a word in the English language.)

when you say “music that you don’t approve of” instead

of saying inappropriate music is that your way of…?

It’s my way of saying that what he is talking

about is not objectively “inappropriate music.”

Take that as you will, keeping in mind that you

probably listen to music he doesn’t approve of.

You missed my point, Music is like anything else, nobody can tell you what to like or not to like, its all personal taste. Like what you like and enjoy it

You guys don’t seem to understand him. He’s saying

Is “Bubby I Love You” ever going to be a real song?

    #1114081

The music he approves of is “nice & calm beautiful music,” and most

people don’t limit their listening to songs under a certain speed,

    so there you go.

    #1114082
    🍫Syag Lchochma

that’s feasible, but it doesn’t mean your right. just curious, do you ever wonder if you are right, or are you just comfortable knowing you could be right?

    #1114083

In this case, I said “probably,” so being right is a matter of

whether it’s a reasonable assumption, not whether you actually

listen to music he doesn’t approve of, so I’m not going to ask if

you listen to any songs which use the tune from a non-Jewish song,

which is something he definitely does not approve of.

no i don’t, but i dont think you answered my question and i am genuinely interested.

    #1114085

(You could be unaware of it…)

    You answered a question I didn’t ask,

and I’m not answering a question you did ask,

so we’re about even. (I think it’s a silly question.)

    #1114086
    🍫Syag Lchochma
    Participant

    no, im not stupid.

its not a silly question and your not answering it seems to be the way you do things.

    how unfortunate.

    #1114087

(I did not mean that I could have answered the question without

you being aware of it, I meant that you could be unaware that

a song you listen to took its tune from a non-Jewish song.

You would not need to be stupid not to know it.)

Do you ever wonder if you are right,

or are you just comfortable knowing you could be right?

Let’s rephrase that: Being aware that you could be wrong,

do you wonder if you’re actually wrong, or is it enough

for you that you already have an opinion?

    I think that’s a silly question.

(Perhaps the question was meant to be whether I

am aware of the possibility of my being wrong.

I think that’s a silly question as well.)

    #1114088
    🍫Syag Lchochma
    Participant

i knew exactly what you meant.

let’s not rephrase it and just answer it. when you tell people things, even if there is a bit of question to it or if it requires an assumption on your part, there is no indication on your part that you are wanting a response or validation, or that there would even be one. so i ask you if you ever wonder if you are, indeed, correct in the assumptions and inferences you come up with, or if you are just comfortable with the information you yourself have come up with and stated. My question has to do with reciprocity, back and forth, closing circles, communicating, otherness etc. It’s really not silly at all.

and i think you have answered my question.

    #1114089

(I don’t know if you saw the first or second version of my last post…)

there is no indication on your part that you are wanting a

response or validation, or that there would even be one.

I just assume that if anyone disagrees or wants to clarify or

respond in any other way, they will do so without having been asked.

This is, after all, a message board. If I was a mod and I closed

threads after posting in them, or if I said things on the phone

and then hung up, that would have been a reasonable statement.

    this –

there is no indication on your part that you are wanting a response or validation, or that there would even be one.

    does not equal this

respond in any other way, they will do so without having been asked.

are YOU willing to risk your childrens frumkeit & torah just so you could liten to this jazz music copied from a goyish singer?

then don’t be upset or surprised when your children C”V become KAR or OTD.

as a parent you are on the job 24-7 as a role model for your children who follow in your ways 7 assume that all that dad does is proper, frum & approved for a frum family.

i hate to break it to you mr agent, sitting in front of a computer or phone on the internet is no way to be a role model for your children. You can do more damage to your children’s neshamos and futures by sitting online then almost anything else. even the garbage among jewish music. so forgive me for not appreciating that you throw stones in a glass house. if you want to make an impression on people, i mean a positive one, you need to include yourself among the mussered.

also, it doesn’t matter where he is online. his neshama and his children’s neshamos are linked. They know what he is doing even if they don’t “know”. and besides that, it changes you.

    #1114101

are YOU willing to risk your childrens frumkeit & torah just so you could liten to this jazz music copied from a goyish singer?

    (A. It’s just “jazz.”

    B. Have you ever heard any actual jazz?)

    C. Please find me a sefer by an acknowledged halachic authority

or spiritual leader that says that there is a problem with jazz,

or with using a tune composed by a non-Jew. Until then, I reserve

the right to not consider them a threat to anyone’s Yiddishkeit.

    D. The question was to be understood as “Just how serious are you about this?”

    #1114102

(your deleted thread – You noticed, eh?)

You would probably know, then, that I wouldn’t be likely to realize it…

(I’m not meant to respond to that post about MA, correct?)

    #1114103

I can’t find any Kusiel Ball records in the music store.

I wonder why. Is this whole thing an inside joke?

By the way, “Bubby I Love You” is a real song. Here’s a transcription:

    Happy Mother’s Day to you

    I love you very much

You’re the best thing in my life

    You’re always there for me

    [Chorus:

    Bubby I love you

    Happy Mother’s Day

    Bubby I love you

You help me find my way]

    You show me your love

And I thank you for that

With all your hugs and kisses

You make me feel so loved

    [Chorus]

I know you love me too

You show me your love with just one[?] [inaudible]

You love me for who I am

And that makes me feel so good

    [Chorus]

Music has a serious effect on ones neshama (for good or bad) and contains in it part of the neshama/soul/intentions of the composer, (and this stuff doesn’t just disappear when you put Hebrew words to it).

As a side point i once heard a story about a lady who underwent brain surgery and when they hit on a certain point she began to sing this complicated opera that they found out after (when they questioned her) she had only listened to it once in her life when she was a young girl and had hated it but it was still there somewhere deep in her memory.

I don’t think anyone will dispute the effect music has on a person.

Wrong song. The thread title is taken from the lyrics of “Bubby I Love You” by 70’s superstar Kusiel Ball from his album “On Sale”.

Music has a serious effect on ones neshama (for good or bad)

Let’s accept this for argument’s sake.

and contains in it part of the neshama/soul/intentions of the composer

Music is notes. When a musician plays a song, how does the

neshama/soul/intention of the composer get into the notes

that are being produced by his instrument?

KAR stands for “kids at risk” i.e. C”V pre before going off the Derech

we need to save our tierre frum children from this ever happening C”V BY REMOVING ALL things with a goyish taam from our homes. from internet to music with a goyish taam etc…. (i am writing this from my office cause i would never allow internet in my home C”V)
