What is the proper Hakoros Hatov that the State of Israel should show and give to the United States for all the massive amounts of American military, economic and political support for the State of Israel?

If the U.S. didn’t provide such support, the State of Israel would be in a far more atrocious predicament.

The United States uses Israel as a Middle East outpost, if Israel got destroyed ch”v America would lose that upper hand

Israel should offer to become the 51st state of the U.S.

They’d have protection, the u.s. would have the biggest stronghold of power in the region, decades ahead of iran, Russia abd china, and we wouldn’t be burdened with enemies who take out the wors “jew” and insert “zionist” to claim moral superiority while advocating for the murder of Jews.

I strongly disagree that Israel would be worse off without U.S. aid. Take Gaza for example. If not for U.S. pressure (which comes with the aid), Israel would have finished off Hamas many years ago, and 10/7 never would’ve happened.
There are plenty of other examples where Israel has been hamstrung by U.S. pressure.
Additionally, especially compared to the aid it gives other countries, the U.S. gets a lot back in return for its Israel aid, in the form of intelligence, technological research, and influence.
I’m not saying we don’t owe the U.S. for the aid. Just keep in mind what we lose and give back in return.

we as Jews should care for the betterment for the people of America. having said that as amazing as the aid has been it comes with downsides for Israel and america. (Israels lack of autonomy, the american military industrial complex)

By not getting bent out of shape and responding every time the U.S. leadership has to issue certain statements which appear to be contrary to Israeli policy positions or doctrine. Just as Bibi has to posture for the right wing of his coalition, Biden has to posture for the “progressive” wing of his own party, especially when it comes to the perceived suffering of women and children in Gaza.

Hard to say if Reb yosef actually meant to pose a serious question, which this is. The Israeli and American governments both have decades of experience in managing the politics of their public statements for local consumption. Netanyahu has to appease lunatics on hisright and Biden has his “progressive” wing. Both seem to be able to manage their messaging quite well w/o undermining their actual non-public coordination efforts.

Before we can answer the original question,
we must understand a few things about USA military aid to Israel:

[1] USA military aid to Israel is NOT a free gift!

Israel is required to spend more than 90% of USA military aid on weapons that are sold ONLY by USA military companies. Therefore, USA military aid to Israel is really subsidizing privately-owned, for-profit USA military companies, which increases the price of their stock.

[2] Weapons produced by USA military companies are not always compatible with Israel’s military needs. For example, they are sometimes:

too expensive to buy, are too expensive to operate, difficult or expensive to maintain, too big, too heavy, or cannot work together to co-operate with Israel’s other military hardware,
or do not work correctly in Israel’s hot sandy desert climate.

[3] When Israel receives military hardware from the USA, the usual result is that Israel sends it back to the USA with many free improvements, which increases the quality of USA military hardware.

    > USA military aid to Israel is NOT a free gift

these are not good arguments. Help, even conditional, is important and requires appropriate gratitude. You sound like a welfare recipient who says that the country is better off by giving him money because he is not breaking into stores or is a great lamdan.

SQRT, thank you for the meal last shabbos , it was wonderful, but of course you subsidized your own wife instead of using professional chef, food was not to my taste and the portions were small.

Hard question to answer, except maybe what huju said. Bibi apparently thinks caving in to the pressure is the correct response. Hard to argue, if Israel is dependent on the USA.
What is clear is that Israel must become militarily dependent and work on making their own weapons. The weakness of the state is so blatant, which is what Arabs feed off.

Avira, terrible idea. Currently Israel is a few years behind American depravity, why expedite it?
