Mashiach Agent, you wrote that it is upsetting when the mods don’t let posts go through. That is what Coffee was referring to, I believe.
In any case, bottom line is that there are people who get insulted, and there is no toeles to posting other people’s insults. I am talking about things like Reuven criticizing Shimon’s grammar. If Shimon finds it offensive, it should not be posted. If Reuven is upset that his post criticizing Shimon’s grammar was not posed, then Shimon is the one who has issues.
lilmod ulelamaid – i agree. they shouldnt be posting stuff that offenses others.

If I may mix in my three pennies:
One- there are other sins to be aware of, besides of Lashon Hara, namely onaas darar, hurting another through words. Includes any pain, anguish, discomfort etc. one causes another through communication.
Two, as mod?? pointed out earlier, a lot of posters know each other. Some lurkers also know posters. (I’ve received many phone calls about stuff that goes on here. And now I’m gonna get another…)
Three, people are somewhat connected to things they write, or to their s/n. Saying something like “Little Froggie, you’re a dunce” is quite likely to cause me slight discomfort.
Four, let me take this opportunity to thank the Mods. They are doing a FANTASTIC job of modding, filtering and keeping this place safe for a Frum person to spend some time. I’ve had the user end of their modding staff too (actually many times)… still they’re doing a most wonderful job, and if I recall they’re doing it without any monetary compensation. So again I LOUDLY applaud the tireless Mods!!!

you misunderstood me. when something is not posted, its not the mods not posting it that upsets me, its the act of dishonesty & corruption of the mods that upsets me, cause the post written is not how they like it etc… & therefore not posted but in truth there’s no hatred or curses written in it. thus that is pure dishonesty & corruption. The mods don’t write why every post is deleted because it would take up a LOT of time. I suggest all the newbies should read the rules of the CR twice more.
By joining an online forum you are subjugating yourself to it’s rules. It likes going to a high school after reading the takanon then complaining about it. I know there is no other “high school” but still, then don’t go on a forum at all.

I feel bad for all the posters who are being forced to post here against their will. I hope they get married soon.
Surprisingly I rarely get censored or edited, I would have thought I would be censored more, but I am not. . The mods dont censor as much as people think they do. The only posts I ever get censored are ones where I suspected before I posted them that were a bit iffy.
Posting here you need to think a bit before you post and if you think a bit and dont rush to post, and post from your head and not your heart, you should be OK

I once heard a quote (I think in the name of some great Rav, but I can’t remember who), I can’t remember the exact quote, but it was something along the lines of “A leader who has no enemies is not a leader.”
If a leader has no enemies, it shows that he must be giving into everyone all the time, and that would make him a follower, not a leader. A true leader has to be able to be strong enough to act against the tide and do things that are not popular!
I am happy to hear that there are people who are upset that their posts were not posted! Although I’m sure it’s hard for you. You have a great schar awaiting you!
MA, it’s not corrupt for them not to post someone’s posts. I’m sure they have a reason, but as Shopping pointed out, they can’t explain each time. The bottom line is that THEY and only THEY have the right and the responsibility to decide what to post, and it has zilch to do with deceit and corruption. It is their forum, and they can decide to post or not post whatever they want!
Also, the fact that you see nothing wrong with your posts does not mean that there is nothing wrong with them. I have seen so many posts that went through that were problematic although apparently the people writing them did not realize. So apparently, there are members who write posts that they think are fine but really aren’t. Often people don’t realize that something they are writing can be offensive to someone else. This happens in real-life all the time, but is much more common online. That is why we need moderators to decide what should be deleted.

I am a psycholagist and i know whoever you realy are is whats gonna come out of you ..So even you feel you are just acting and its not your name ..no one knows you..you will still act or say whats on your mind..not whats on mine mind cause that is what i will say…in other words you cant run away from yourself..you might cover up or act sometimes.. but along the line the real you will uncover…thats one of the reasons if you write anything that can hurt someone it will hurt!!!! and here i appericiate ywn for not printing any stuff thats painful lushen hora or against halucha..

Of course my first post wasn’t edited. The mods did that as a joke. actually it was In any case the mods do so much work, they edit long megilos and save people from hearing loshon hara.
And most have a sense of humour too. 🙂
I beleive it says in the rules that if your post was edited or rejected, do not ask why because they don’t have time to explain. Sometimes when I am really annoyed at the mods I email them. 🙂

From all the people here (besides myself because I know myself), I would guess that Sadgirlygirl is the most likely to be what she says she is.
But it’s true that precautions are always in order. It would be very easy for a predator to come online and claim to be someone he is not in order to worm his way into someone’s life… so I think that giving out emails is not a good idea, just in case…

Happygirlygirl – ive taken the majority of the psychology classes that are needed for that major loved all of them and aced them b’h thats why i consider it easy and fun.

And if English is their first language, as I assumed, then I don’t feel as terrible for perhaps calling out a prevaricator. I just sometimes get a little irritated at some of the stream-of-consciousness onslaughts that invariably confuse and disrupt, especially when it’s inconsequential and possible false.
