I feel like I don't belong here

Yoya, why would you feel that way? Do you post frequently and get no response? Have you posted anything that requires a response? In any case, her I am, replying to you, and I hope you will stay. I was the new kid on the block only a couple of years ago. We all were new at one time. Hang in there.

I don’t know anyone here. The more you post and read the more you get to know people and people get to know you.

Yoya we love newcomers please give us another chance just speak your mind we want to know what you have to say.

aries, please don’t feel this way. In fact, when I first read this OP line, a wave of panic struck me that maybe this thread was in fact started by you over how I criticized/insulted you.

I apologize profusely if I caused you such pain and just remember that painful thing I wrote came from a painful place within me.

Let’s forgive one another. And ourselves. And don’t leave. I like your long winded comments which are long for purpose of writing for others’ benefit. In fact in one case, I was really down about a personal issue I have with the society I live within and it was your comment that I remember more than anyone elses. You told me the problem was with them and not me. You said more about too but …anyways that was chizuk.

Yoya, dont feel that way. Its like moving into a new neighborhood. WHen I was new I felt like everybody here was good old friends. But there is always room for one more. You jsut start throwing in a few comments here and there and before you know it, ppl start seeing what you’re about, if you’re smart, or funny or serious or whatever. Believe me, I have been here 3 yrs I think and I still have no idea who is whose friend or whats really going on.

I like when new people join. It gives fresh perspective and personality to the coffee room. Sometimes people make comments and I have nothing further to add, so it may look like their post has been ignored, when in fact, it hasn’t. I find the coffee room addictive because I really enjoy reading everyone’s posts. (Aries: you have so much to say, so much life experience and knowledge/chochma, you might not know how much your posts help people here. The way you handle hurts also helps me learn).

I felt like that (like you) on several occasions, especially when the thread “list your favorite posters” came up. I’m not so resilient to list my own name, and wondered if others found me to be too lectury and a “know it all”. I have felt like I was sharing an opinion, but others may have felt it came across differently. I continue to post, however, because I like to. I just have to work on my self esteem in my own way.

I don’t really belong here either, I am probably much older than other posters. Some topics are very interesting to me, some are not. But I like the idea that I can sometimes bring up a topic and read other people’s opinions on it. So I don’t plan on stopping to read the coffee room.

If you are ok with wasting hours of time online then this is the place to be (if u werent planning on being on Torah Shiurim sites that is). The crowd is nice and people here are usually friendly except when you disagree with them 😉

better yet…get blocked or banned 😀

better yet.. claim to know all there is to know about someone else’s shul. Even though its been x years since you’ve been inside.

Think about how much more interesting it would be if all the readers like yourself would contribute to the conversation. Im sure your input would be welcome by the oylum.

Dont feel bad, whenever I post, nobody responds to my comments and everybody calls me a troll. I don’t know why. I have already explained that my SN is tro eleven,not troll. I guess some people can’t differentiate between a 1and an L. Oh we11.
