How is it permissible to take the father to ??????? (I’m not talking about the perp, rather his father.)
Who said anything about the perp’s father?
Just to note, the excerpt on the YWN link above didn’t quote the full original source, which indicates the suit was also against the perp’s father.
Aside the ?????? issue, on what basis would a man be responsible for the criminal actions of his 35 year old adult son, in halacha or secular law?
I was also surprised….especially after the words ant the funeral that Leiby’s father said….
i thought it was pretty interesting too. what are they suing the guys father for?
Not sure what to make of it.
I would guess that the father was named in the suit since the crime took place in his home and perhaps he can be held responsible

firstly DAN L’CAF ZECHUS!! we don’t know the whole picture or even part of it!!
Secondly it may not be Mr. Kletzky doing the sueing it may be someone saying he wants to sue in his name.
please please please be careful with what we say we don’t know can’t judge or speculate of someone elses misfortune.

when one sues everything is in the hands of the lawyers
and when lawyers sue they sue everyone possible.
i was once named in a suit actually against someone else
when the patient came to see me for a checkup i said you are suing me why are you coming to see me
she said what are you talking about? im not suing you
she called the lawyer. he was very upset but was forced by her to drop the suit against me

If he is truly innocent im with you in this sentiment.
From what I heard, the family of the accused killer is paying for his legal fees. When I read about the lawsuit my thought were that perhaps this is a way to tie up their money so they can’t pay for his legal fees. Maybe they think it will be a quicker trial without these lawyers etc. Again, just my thought.
The accused’s lawyers are third-rate nincompoops who have never tried a murder case before. Even the Judge criticized having such newbies try this case. They are about as cheap as they come. I also read somewhere they are trying it pro bono, probably to build up their own experience at the expense of the defendant. And in any event, everyone is entitled to lawyers, and the Judge said he would have given the accused free legal counsel with better experience, paid by the government, if he didn’t have these jokers already on the case.
The accused lawyers got into trouble for posting comments regarding the case on their Facebook pages.

Just because a news story says that such and such is true does NOT mean it’s true.
It’s so easy to believe news stories on the basis of hearsay. How about believing yesodos in Yiddishkeit with such ease? I’m reminding myself of this by writing this.
Instead of our wondering and investigating and conjecturing and judging, how about davening that Moshiach come already? That will be the true end to all the tzaros.
I think everyone is busy being too hasty and jumping to conclusions. Why dont you all just sit back and see what happens?
