I was once quoted in the NY Times. Who can find me?

    #644919

    areivim,

I second your nomination of squeak.

and btw, i’m dying of curiosity to find out what occupation you have that just naming it would, to quote you, make us all barf our coffee. but yeah, I know the mods will never allow that. 🙁

    ames,

I’d add you to my list for sure also but I can’t because I didn’t make a list cuz I know I’ll forget someone and I won’t be able to handle all the new customers for my ego boosting biz. 🙂

chuck, feel free to chime in but I think that his profession is given away already. I’ve only heard of one that is known to be deadly boring, yet those who pursue it speak of its hidden intrigue and fascinating work. And it ain’t what Joseph does.

I had name and residence mentioned. Possibly age; would have to look at it. It was about a year and a half ago.

Just checked – included age and position.

I should add, the reporter materially misquoted me. And misquoted me in direct quotes, not merely paraphrased.

    asdfghjkl,

thanks, you’re so on mine too buddy!

    Squeak,

I remember that hint too and its been driving me up the wall. But don’t give any more hints so his identity shouldn’t get blown.

    Joseph,

I have every issue of the NY times from the past 2 years on my desk. I’ll start going thru them to find the guy who they quoted about a year and half ago. I’m sure there was only one such person, lol.

I hardly think that giving away someone’s profession would blow his identity. Unless it was a really rare job (or at least rare in our communities).

Joseph, how come they didn’t include your middle name? That made it harder for me to find in the archives

    wait a minute… I’m missing something here.

charlie, squeak, Joseph… I didn’t even realize I was giving a classic description.

MODS- please allow squeak to reveal the mystery profession. I will not confirm or negate whether or not I’m in that field. I just need to know the answer to this riddle. Please??

I’ve been in many papers in the Monsey area many times. I’ve been quoted/photographed and I have a whole archive of articles about me. (no, I am not lying) I’ve also been on the radio a few times.

charlie – it would be far easier to do a search for “Joseph” on the Times webpage 🙂

    squeak – I don’t have one.

SJS – I’ve been on the air quite often myself. In fact, at one point I had been on the entire WABC lineup of programs, including the national shows. I do refuse though to allow my photograph to appear (in print.) The Jewish Press (Mess) recently wanted to photograph me.

Hey people- the CR band!!! Why didn’t I think of it??? Yeah Jax I’ll take care of the drum kit! But if anyone else here plays drums then I can do another instrument…

Got room for me in your garden ames??? And the best part is yet to come- I’ve studied magic as well!!! So well see you there!

Yeah Jax reading this thread brought tears to my eyes when I remember all the good times we used to have!!! Pity there was nothing like the old crew!!! 😉

noitallmr- ditto on everything you wrote. I was shlepping such shmottis when I read this thread! Those were the days (and I don’t even go that far back).

PS- I’ll take over the drums. Can you do a sax (my favorite) or maybe a flute?

I don’t play harmonica, but when I move around there is an audible rattling. I’ve been told that qualifies as a musical instrument (especially if you consider Stomp legitimate music).

When you consider that half of Hollywood is Jewish, that’s not so far fetched. But we’re talking about singers here, isn’t that Memphis?

Depends which genre. ames likes rock- not cowboys strumming on their guitars (yeeha) 😉

areivim, ARE YOU JOKING? I love country music and cowboys strumming on their guitars, but I thought it might be too much to ask for Jewish country music

    what about Country Yossi?

please tell me you’re kidding ames…

I don’t know which singers come from where- but I get a feeling you’re referring to a real old timer that starts with an E?

PS- country yossi!;) He does have some country songs, so does Journey’s 4
