Ever notice an interesting view from Google Satellite?
Why not share it with us?
I’ll start with one- a runway (with a plane ready to take off) on the roof of a building in Manhattan.July 21, 2010 5:30 pm at 5:30 pm #1029098smartcookieMember
Are you talking a bout google streetview or is this something else?July 21, 2010 6:30 pm at 6:30 pm #1029099

Are you familiar with that building?

Yep. It was put there to amuse high-floor residents of surrounding buildings.July 22, 2010 2:12 pm at 2:12 pm #1029104
Corner of Garibaldi St. and Route 202, San Fernando neighborhood, Buenos Aires, Argentina. This is the corner where Israeli agents captured Adolf Eichmann. His house on Garibaldi St. is no longer standing.
He was fascinated with trains and the Israelis observed him watching the trains go by with his youngest son who was born in Argentina. (This son has no memories of his father and is embarrassed to be related.) The train tracks are still visible on the bottom of the view.
Back then the area was very marshy and was much less populated than it is now.July 22, 2010 2:35 pm at 2:35 pm #1029105July 22, 2010 2:51 pm at 2:51 pm #1029106
Lombard Street, San Fransisco, CA
There is one block of Lombard Street that consists of seven hairpin turns, one after the other. What you can’t see from the map or satellite view is that the street is also on a steep incline.
Lombard Street (and its curves) was featured in what I consider to be one of the funniest movie chase scenes of all time at the end of the movie “What’s Up Doc?”

Actually, I’ve seen a Venusian-Martian argument. It was shown in the Twilight Zone Episode “Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up.”

Winchester Mystery House, San Jose California
What’s interesting about this structure is that it’s all one house.

Actually I do. in fact , I came out of my house when I saw it passing by. That’s why when you are directly in front of my house you cant see me , but if you continue down the road and look back you will.August 20, 2014 2:17 pm at 2:17 pm #1029125🍫Syag LchochmaParticipant
There is a date on the bottom of the screen that says when the street view picture was taken. My dad’s house was photographed 3 days before he died. For a long time I loved to go back to that page and see the house with his car still parked out front . . .August 20, 2014 7:13 pm at 7:13 pm #1029126yehudayonaParticipant
