I’m willing to bet his roots are from Bklyn. Most people from NJ are.

This is Mordechai — Thanks for all the compliments!

If you’d like to buy ,,idn 3PIS SIHL,, (read that while standing on your head) directly from me, my email address is edited. You can buy it from Amazon or Israel Book Shop, but they probably won’t inscribe it.

A few replies to previous posts:

EZRAT H. — Every article I write will hopefully make it into a book at some point, IY”H. Unfortunately, I’m mostly going chronologically, so it will be a while. If you want to catch the article again, it will probably be in the 5 Towns Jewish Times and the Lakewood Shopper (and maybe some other papers) this coming Purim.

KRUNCH — Yeah, I’m a frum Dave Barry. The world needed one. I have all his books on a shelf right outside my bathroom, and I wrote a college thesis on him.

ADDICT — Passaic is out of town? I can see Manhattan from any hill in my neighborhood! And driving-wise, if you’re coming from Brooklyn, and I’m coming from Passaic, I’m about three hours closer!

BPT — What do you call “roots”? I lived there until I was 6, but am primarily a Monsey kid. Neither of my parents are from there either.

ADORABLE – Who’s your aunt? I probably shouldn’t ask, but you mad me very curious. I was always wondering if someone is walking around, going, “I dated that guy! Boy am I glad it didn’t work out!”

    Thanks again for everything,

    Mordechai

PS — I’m on facebook now! But I don’t advertise it.

Sorry, we don’t allow email addresses. But we are really glad to have you here. I am a big fan. Mod-95

Roots, from brooklyn? Yeah, I guess you could make that statement if you assume that maaseh bereishis happened in Boro Park in the 20th century….. This is as ridiculous as saying that the Rebbe’s previous gabbai is the source of his gadlus.

Mordechai- OMG I am rolling from you. you are one of the funniest people that I have ever met. Thanks for the laughs. Its funny that yo say that because she actually married my uncle who is way way wackier than you! I guess its good she didnt marry you because then she wont be my aunt. now at least we can make fun of her that she dated you!!!!!!!!!!!!

It would not be fair of me to place a bet now, as I’ve been proven right by Mr. Funny Guy himself (living in Bklyn until 6 counts!)

Too bad I lost on your sister / BIL. Can’t win ’em all ;(

“Maaseh Bereishis happened in Boro Park in the 20th century”

Maybe not in the literal sense, but as someone who was in Bklyn in the 70s, I can tell you that Yiddishkeit took a quantum leap in the 70s-80s, and while it may not have been as landscape-altering as maaseh berashis, it was surely something to behold

“the Rebbe’s previous gabbai is the source of his gadlus.”

In today’s arena? Not counting a few notable exceptions (like the Skuleneh Rebbe, Shlita, for example) this statement is more true than you can imagine.

Squeak, spend a little less time in the CR and a bit more time in the “Kaaveh Shteeb” and you’ll see what I mean

    #894379

I am HIGHLY insulted to be called OOT. walking to school i saw Manhattan mamash every day (school is at the top of a hill). and Coffee, i wonder if i know your sis and BIL lol

Just have to add my two cents on a thread which is actually being read by you – esp. if it will make its way into your next hamodia article! Jk,

Squeak – the name is Judy Brown 😉

Gem of a line, Channah. Wish I’d thought of it myself.

And Yes, Squeak, depending on the subject matter (like the ones you are reffering to) I do take myself seriously. Very seriously.

Care to poke holes in my theories? I’d love to argue it out.

it ain’t necessarily so. I used to fax in R’ Abraham Stone’s Torah parsha article in to the Jewish Press every week for publication for the next issue.

always here, that means you don’t read schmutter’s articles! he always talks about how (for instance) the readers are in middle of pesach cleaning and he’s in middle of a chanuka party (or something to that effect)

I think Hamodia is very strict about getting their articles way in advance…

(unless I take Schmutter too seriously! lol!)

    always here:

oops! I forgot that you’re the one who wrote that you read his articles every week. I would never accuse someone of lying!

But if Schmutter is serious, Hamodia is more strict about this than the Jewish Press…

therealmgama~ k. I did write that “it ain’t necessarily so”.

(besides being a song title), they very well may have different submission time policies.
