Overall, do you think there will more attempts of election fraud in this year’s presidential election than usual?August 27, 2020 10:23 am at 10:23 am #1896170
“I don’t see the slowness of the Post Office yet.”
Postal service in the Bronx has been slow for decades. Many people did not get their absentee ballots in time for the June primary. (My wife received hers the day after the election.)August 27, 2020 10:23 am at 10:23 am #1896169
“One person = One vote.”
A speaker at the Republican Convention just called for an end to that.August 27, 2020 10:24 am at 10:24 am #1896168
“It takes less than a minute to partially disable a voting machine.”
Or to change the software. Without paper backups, there is zero election security. Vote by mail is much more secure because you have the actual ballots. Similarly the scan ballots we use in NY are much more secure than the all electronic systems.
There was really nothing wrong with the old mechanical lever voting machines that were used in NYC until about a decade ago.August 27, 2020 11:09 am at 11:09 am #1896195anonymous JewParticipant
I think there will be some frsud. Look at what happened in Paterson New Jersey. However, that is least of potential problems. The millions of manual ballots would have to be hand counted. If you don’t think that won’t take time, look at what happened n.v ed in only 1 congressional district in NY. It took nearly 2 months to certify her win , thousands of mailin ballots were thrown out and her opponent is suing. Regardless who wins the Presidential election, the loser will call for a recount. By law, the Electoral College has a deadline of mid December. There is no way an original manual count and recount can take place in 6 weeks.August 27, 2020 11:09 am at 11:09 am #1896194HealthParticipant

So Let them go back to that.
But mailing them in – even the Dead people can vote by their Relatives!August 27, 2020 2:38 pm at 2:38 pm #1896237anonymous JewParticipant
Charlie, vote by mail is and isn’t secure.
Absentee ballots are secure because they are only sent to the address of the people requesting it.
Mailin ballots, mailed to every registration in a state’s rolls of voters can only be secure and safe if the rolls have been properly purged of invalid registrations ( i.e. people who have either moved or died ). To qualify for purging, a person would have have not voted in 2 successive presidential elections and failed to respond to 3 requests mailed to last known address. Stacy Abrams of Georgia called this voter suppression, and states have thus been cowed into not updating voter registrations.
