Now it is summer when the kids jump for joy
But all the parents do is kvetch and say oy
To camp they send their kids with luggage galore
for the kids it is fun for the parents it’s a big chore
The kids dream of swimming of color war of trips
while the parents bemoan all the money for tips
Then comes the day when the parents do fear
to go visit their kinderlach it is their burden to bear
Oh but the little ones will be kvetching and the traffic a mess
I don’t see the point of this, they do it under much duress
Why do we have to shlep and spend so much money
this chore is too much it really isn’t funny!
But dear parents please take a moment from being so stressed
and realize how much you truly are blessed
Your children are given to you as a gift from above
always cherish them and shower them with your love
Remember that there are many who are not as lucky as you
those of us childless and the singles too.

This is the first year in many that I have to once again, B”H, deal with visiting day. This is our first year as grandparents having to visit a grandchild on visiting day. It is a whole new experience.
Although it isn’t the ideal day for some, for others it is wonderful. Kinda hard to please everyone. I never have visitors which sorta makes it hard but I understand that others enjoy it. Everyone needs a taste of home every so often. Its great for parents to see what the camp that they’re sending their kid to is like.

I’m going to be in the mountains this weekend and am already thinking about “dropping by” Erev Shabbos with a bag of rugelech for his bunk.
