I second it. He’s a good guy. But will that not mean this newer account will be blocked? He cant have 2, especially with such similar names???

If the mods wanted you to know, they wouldn’t have deleted the thread that discusses this very issue.

Joseph – Thats not the way the CR works here.

OK, I’ll explain how the CR works. If a user gets blocked they are blocked at the cookie level and are told to contact a moderator. As you know contacting a moderator is no trivial matter. Officially (although there are reports that it isn’t so) each moderator has an email address based on their number but the only way to find this out is by browsing a site that you can’t browse. Even if you manage to know how to contact the moderators you still don’t know which moderator to contact and moderators seldomly get involved with matters involving other moderators, leaving the best solution to be deleting the cookie (or all cookies if you don’t know how to delete a single cookie, losing preferances for countless sites in the process) and creating a new account.

This may not be what the designers intended but it is how it works.

Okay, but why would you want to have Joseph as a screen name? (Or are you saying that the mods aren’t giving you any choice…?)

Strong-arm tactics would include pushups, weights, isometric stuff..etc.

But perhaps if real-brisker writes a letter stating how he understands why that account was blocked and will not repeat that/those things again, they will unblock that account.

We have all heard countless awesome stories of tshuva, for truly great offenses, where any record of that offense after sincere tshuva, was deleted, as though it never happened. The slate is clean. Such is the Jewish way!

If rb is sincere in what he says, maybe they will open the account. And considering he still is an active poster under this name, what would the harm be to let him have back that name?

BT Guy – I don’t think there is any reason why my account was blocked. It was during the phase when random members were being suspected of being Joseph, and it would come along with a blockage. I asked then to unblock, but to no avail. So I just informed them that if it womt be unblockled I will just open a new account. And so I did, and here I am posting with it.

I have no idea what the intention was, but at first the subscript said “time out” & then it said “blocked”.

I don’t think there was a real difference as far as blocking goes – I just think some Mod was trying to be funny and posted “time out”.

The news today, January 12th, reads that a US aircraft carrier strike group has moved into the Arabian Sea. Another one is on the way. And that the US denies any link to Iran’s threat to block the Strait of Hormuz – the world’s most important oil shipping lane. So can we get on with other important business and get real-brisker’s old account unblocked?
