My mother in law who is Hungarian born and bred was telling me to fill out a form for my FIL, she told me his name is Joesph but he spells in JOSEF, F like Forkosh
In Hungarian the spelling would be pronounced as Yoshef.
Rev Eliezer, koko-osh is still closer to kokosh than kakaos. Perhaps the Hungarian Jews said koko-osh and not kokosh, I really don’t remember that part and unfortunately I cannot ask my grandparents as they have passed on.
Is your spelling of kakaos is pronounced koko-osh?
Yes
For Josef the proper spelling in Hungarian should be Jozsef. The sound is something like Jack.
The sound is more like zsh for Jozsef.
Remember its F as in Forkosh
Rev Eliezer, ok, that clears it up. I though the pronunciation was as you spelled it in English.
I know a popular Jewish celebrity who got it
@rebyid613 I know plenty of Jewish celebrities and even more none celebrities who love to eat Koko-osh cake
