    Let’s just clarify, the question gives no clues as to the poster’s gender.

    And the way they ask ‘Well?’ is if anything feminine.

    I have one beard, not white, long, nor split, but probably scraggly.

    It didn’t take much sharpness or brightness to Google [“ben sira” beard].

    Anyway, “If B, then A” does not follow from “If A, then B.”

    As for the point of this thread… (Do threads need points?) How about,

    “to demonstrate that our impressions or assumptions can be mistaken?”

    The Gemara quotes the book of Ben Sira as saying

    “One who has a split in his beard – no one can overcome him.”

    Does that help?

    I hate it when people go all “I’m so old and wise” on me…..like when teachers say, “Appreciate school, it’s the best years of your lives, after school you will actually have some responsibilities unlike now” blah blah blah
