These are very poor approaches to Yiddishkeit!

Today it was made known that the rabbi the kabbalist Nissim Shalom dreamt about his grandfather who informed him that the messiah is in the doorway, and this must be made known to all the nation of israel. He also commanded that he who is alacritous to send this out will be saved from the pangs of the messiah, and he who doesn’t will lose a lot of money. The rabbi cautioned to make it known publicly. It should be sent out to 12 people, like the number of the tribes, immediately, for this is the time of will.

Sounds like any old chain letter to me.

The Kabbalist …. had a dream that the Mesiach is on his way, and it’s necessary to publish this. He ordered that everyone passes this on, in order to get saved by the paing of the Meshiach. Whoever doesn’t is likely to lose lots of money, etc.

Does anyone here actually know who this kabbalist is? Granted, I’m not up on my mekubalim, but this is a name I’ve never heard of before. Of course my lack of recognition at the name doesn’t mean he doesn’t exist, but I’d like to at least hear from a person or two who *does* have some experience with this person.

You do all realize that this exact message is going around currently on Whatsapp, right? I received it twice already. And apparently it’s at least 10 years old, based on this thread!
These things to NOT make people focus on meaning, Yiras Shamayim, or anything else. They promote cynicism, and distraction from the appropriate response to an Eis Tzarah. And that is the fault of whomever started this thing….
