    im a bit embarrassed to ask

    ive only heard it a hundred times

    but im not sure what some of the words are

    but can anyone tell me the lyrics?

    Don’t feel embarrassed, I also have no idea except for the last line. It is a BEAUTIFUL nigun, no? We use it for zemiros.

    Thank you very much, Max well. This is one of my favorite nigunim, and the video brought me to tears, between the beautiful music, the meaningful lyrics, and of course, the view of Yerushalayim Hakedosha.

    Isn’t this a piyut for Shavuot? Is there any shul that uses it?

    Shavuos piyut it may be, but the first few lines were popularized by Yiddle Werdiger (who has a good voice and often fantastic arrangements). The lyrics are probably in the liner notes.

    Those who daven at KAJ (Breuers’ in WH) knew the words to this song long before the tune was put to it.
